"Please tell me Kris," Brian begged as we walked into history together.
"Fine, but I'll have to show you," I said as I pulled down my black and red arm warmers. On my left arm I had cut from my palm to my elbow. On my right I had carved "DEATH" and an anarchy sign.
"Oh Kris, you know I can't stand to see your cuts or carvings. It kills me to see that you're hurting yourself," Brian said in a strange voice as he held me. Tears started to swell up in my eyes. "Don't cry, everything will be okay, don't worry."
"You don't understand why I do this to myself," I said as tears started rolling down my cheeks. "That's why it kills you. I flirt with suicide just to kill the pain. Sometimes after I'm done cutting, I just lay in bed and pray to God to not let me wake up."
"Kris, you know I'm only a couple of blocks away, so instead of cutting yourself, maybe you can come over to my house. You know my parents love you to death," Brian said in a pleading voice.
"I'll do so if my evil mother lets me out of the house, because even sneaking out is hard," I said, wiping the tears from my face.
"Hey Kris," Brian said changing the subject. "Aboo, abooboo, aboobooboo...Man, you don't know what's funny! At that we both started laughing. The rest of the day was pretty laid back. Its great being a junior because you still have time to make mistakes and you only have a year until you graduate.
* * * * * *
"So, what do you want to do?" Brian asked as we sat on his patio and he threw a ball back and forth to the wall.
"Let's go set things on fire!" I said being a huge pyro-maniac.
"Are you nuts?! The fuzz is everywhere you little pyro-crackhead."
"As for the crazy part, you have no idea, and for the fuzz, who cares?"
"You're right...But could we not get arrested today?"
"Fine...Oooh, oooh, how about cow tipping?!"
"Well lets see here...first of all, they're all awake. Second of all again lets not raise havoc in the suburbs today."
"Okay fine...how about the mall?"
"Finally! Something that won't get me grounded for a month!"
"But we're taking your truck!"
"My little beat up Ford?"
"Hey genius...It beats walking!"
"True, true..."
He actually had a decent '02 single cab Ford. He made fun of it all the time though because he's a wreck less driver. I remember when he hit a big oak tree and messed up the front end. He had duct ape holding the front end on for months.
"Ahhh...the mall. I haven't been here in forever!" Brian sighed as we walked towards the entrance.
"I know, it's been forever for me too. Oh no..." My voice got strangely quite.
"What?"
"Evil prep!"
"And she's coming this way."
"Hey Brian," said a voice that made me want to push my fingers into my eyes. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure," he said.
"Traitor!" I hissed as he walked away with my rival.
I sat on the bike rack for a few minutes until he returned with is arm around the she-devil's waist.
"Ummmm...Brian, can I talk to you for a minute?" I said a little shaky.
"Hold on baby..." He whispered in her ear.
"Ummmm...Brian...NOW!" I almost yelled.
"Kris, what's goin on?" he asked a little confused.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked, my voice sharp and edgy.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean why do you have your arm around my arch-enemy?"
"Kris, I'm gonna be honest with you. I've always wanted to be the gut who could get the hottest most popular girl in school."
"Fine, but I can't stay here and watch this. I'm walking home."
"What's your problem?"
"What do you think?" At that I turned and started to walk home. I broke down on the way there and got home a few hours later. "Hello? Is anybody home?" No reply. I found a note on the counter, it read:
Kris,
I'll be home late, there's money on the table in an envelope,
Run and get you something to eat.
Mom
"Ten bucks...oh wow." I muttered to myself. "Oh well, to Burger King."
It was a beautiful August evening for a walk. When I got back home I had a couple of messages from Brian, but the one that hit me the hardest was this one:
"Kris, it's me. I don't know what your problem is. If you can't except me and Missy, then I don't think we can hang out anymore."
I was devastated. I was so angry, sad, confused, and disturbed all at once. I just fell on my bed and broke down again...what else could I do?
A few minutes later I walked back to the kitchen and finished my food. When I finished I walked to the bathroom and looked at my reflection for a few minutes. I then washed the makeup from my face and stared at myself as an outsider would see me.I'm about five feet two inches, so I'm pretty tiny. My dark green eyes flared with hatred and pain. My long, black hair draped over my shoulders. I looked like I've seen too much pain and hurt in this world. Maybe I looked a little sad, scared, and alone. I turned from the mirror and took a long warm shower.
Half an hour later I layed on my bed with the radio on. "Everything hit me so fast and hard today. Brian needs to quit being stuck up and open his eyes." I stared at the ceiling until my eyelids got heavy and fell asleep in moments...This is obviously chapter 2 in this gothic story of bits and pieces of my life. The emotions are mostly what I feel and think so if you have aqny questions or coments...feel free to type them down in the coments box.
