48 Trips Around the Sun

Wow, where to start. I guess at the beginning or at least at the beginning of the change. Anyone here that knows me knows that about a year ago, (a year ago next week as a matter of fact) I was faced with one of the toughest decisions I ever had to make in my life. That decision was to either stay in Ohio where I was dying or move to California and just take a chance that my life would get better.

Ok, here we go

I packed my bags for a 2 day bus trip and needless to say, that in itself was quite an adventure and one I'm glad I embarked upon. I had had such a dead life up until that point (at least in the 18 years previous, well everything except for my daughter) that anything was a change. I was a little scared when I started out as it seemed like a lifetime ago since I had done anything like that.

I met some of the realest, most interesting people in the world. People from all kinds of backgrounds and it was a wonderful experience but that is yet another story

Anyways, when I first got here, I was a wreck, I was miserable, scared, angry, lost, hopeless and my life was kind of out of control. My friends here Lorena (AzureBlue from AP) and Danny (Dragonfyre from AP) were willing to let me come here for a week to just chill and I was very grateful. Then that one week turned into two and it really helped. By the end of that two weeks, I had faith in people restored, I was rested, a little clearer in my mind, a little healthier and by far, much more mentally stable. LOL

Then it was time t go back to Ohio and the thought just about killed me *sigh* But to make a long story short, there was the fight with my daughter to move out here, the worries about me losing our home, the concerns with my husband and the thought of leaving my sons behind. I'll go around all that for now and just say things worked out for the best

Here I am now a year later and happier than I ever have been in my whole life I think. I live with my best friends and they are truly 2 of the greatest people in the world. My daughter is doing well and I believe she is pretty content here and that's all I really wanted was to have a better life for us, and her above myself.

Which all brings me to yesterday, My 48th Trip Around the Sun. It was my birthday and it was I believe the best one I have ever had in my life. Went out for dinner to a really nice Italian restaurant, the best food I have eaten out for awhile. Had Happy Birthday sung to me in Italian, it was like having Andrea Batali singing to me (he had a beautiful voice) and had the best company in the world sharing it with me. My 3 best friends, Lorena, Danny and of course my daughter

The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been having my 2 sons there with me too. I know though that they were both thinking about me as they both called several times yesterday. LOL

I have a feeling that this write may have helped my writers block and you will all be hearing more from me in the near future.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a peaceful, blessed, love filled day.

Be Well and Be Blessed

A DEEPLY BEAUTIFUL OPENING OF YOUR HEART

My dear sweet friend, as I read this I have happy tears in my eyes for somehow I knew that after a time you both would find at least a little happiness in a new place. Sometimes one has to just take a huge chance and let the one above take charge. You have made my day with this truly beautiful opening of your heart. Your friend always, Puppydog

Yes my friend, you have remembered correctly It worked out wonderfully and every day just seems to get better too. Not saying it's always easy because life isn't however; it does go in accordance with our own personal decisions and if you think things out and go where and do what your hunches and heart tells you to do, you can't go wrong

I hope things go well for you too Thanks for reading and commenting. Be Well and Be Blessed

if i remember correctly you held a contest in which you explained your situation and wanted entries that might help you make a decision to move or not. i think i entered it also duh me
anyhoo...glad to hear it all worked out for the best. it was a little over a year ago i moved from Connecticut where i had lived for over 30 years to New York state. i lived in New York, in cow country, for four years of high school. i do not regret making the move and my husband is happy he moved here too. now i am waiting for all those good things, which have happened to you, to happen for me too
it's good that you took the chance, made the change and are happy now rah for you
