First Blooms of 2006

Some of my newest photography!
I promised some time ago to post new photography, so here you go. Not my best work by far, but that was partly the camera's fault, too. Next time we go back to film.

I went outside tonight for some pictures in mom's garden. The wildflowers are blooming, and they don't do so very often, so I only have a small window of time to photograph them. I tried to take the photos from the bedroom window, but it didn't work out. There was a rabbit outside eating the grass and I didn't want to spook him, but I ended up doing it anyway, so I just went outside.

Learned something. My digital camera hates motion of any kind. I got some cool shots because of it, but most were ruined. You can't help slight evening breezes, but the camera wasn't having it. So any halos... that's why. Note to self... buy film.

Ok... anything that appears to be on a vine is wild. The little neat bundles are mom's flowers.

I ruined a perfectly good pair of socks for these, so I hope you enjoy! LOL!

Complete with sign! LOL! It was dark at this point and I totally missed the sign until I uploaded the pictures. That is so bad!

That was the result of a downright wind. But I thought the effect was sort of cool, so there it is.

This was so cool to look at that I tried really, really hard to capture it with little luck. This was the result of a lot of editing, unfortunetly. I had to kill the blur as best I could, then I sucked out the color and decided to go for eerie instead of pretty. Next attempt shall be with film, hands down. All images are copyright Erin S. 2006. Dogwoods. Hm. I wasn't sure what they were, to be honest. They just sort of grow out there in the little mini forest. But I'm always rather taken by the flowers, although it only seems to bloom once a year. So that was my chance.

These are wonderful pictures, Sis. I especially love the dogwood. My sister has pink ones in her yard as well as the white, and they are breathtaking when in bloom. You are quite the photographer, and I am so glad you decided to share these with everyone. Thank you. Hugs, Patricia
