I was talking to a friend today about religion and she made the comment to me; 'You are so wise beyond your years', I said to her I don't know about all that, and she responded 'where do you get it from books, you must read a lot' and I said yea well I read but its not that. I just, I don't know I listen, wisdom is nothing more than listening and being present. I said to her being present for life's learning experiences is how I got so "wise". I listened, I listened to the discussions my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, teachers and others had around me, with me and because of me. All through my childhood. If the adults were talking I was in the middle of them listening. Being a child, the old adages were; children are to be seen not heard, speak only when spoken to, and respect your elders, so, that's what I did. I sat and soaked up all the debates insights and general discussions my elders had in front of me. In school I didn't take notes. I listened, I listened to what the teachers lectured about. I payed attention, I was present. That is how I became 'wise' if you can even call it that. So let me impart this little bit of found wisdom on you; be present, listen, question when you can but most importantly listen. Take it or leave it.

Words of wisdom. Listening is key to a lot of successes. It can help you identify specific facts and devise strategy to deal with them appropriately. All the best.

i like it, its very true, the easiest way to become wise is to listen (much quicker than experiancing). Don't disregard people when they seem stupid (even if they are) because learning what not to do can be just as important.
Good luck to you with life

Good job! It's takes most people a long time to learn the importance of listening. It's like my speech teacher in high school said: "God gave us two ears, but only one mouth. So that means we are meant to listen twice as much as we speak."
