All these things live in me and around me. If you live in the world without these things in your very being, then you are numb to its pain. The earth is like my mind, planting seeds of thought in good soil to grow into wonderful deeds and ideas. Fire is my core, hot and molten and as with fire, I can be unpredictable and harsh, but tempered with earth can bring new things into being. The air has such an impact on all things, like a person’s voice or lack of one. If you do not learn to relate the things that you feel, or to take a stand when needed; it is like the wind, not enough, people will walk all over you, to much, and they are running to take cover from your storm. Water is an essential element for any thing to survive, and as with life, it is always moving. Like me, it can be moved and swayed, held in check by the earth at times, and at others nothing can hold it back. It can be volatile, angry and boiling when fueled by the fire below the surfaces as well as calm and cool, not letting the other elements have as much said in the matter, but to keep them all at equilibrium instead. Being like water means that I have to be able to flow with all life, as well as have the strength to overcome hidden obstacles.
Some could look at these things and consider me akin to the weather, rather unpredictable. Although weather also has a pattern. Looking at other things in nature, I could describe myself like the different gemstones in nature. With so many colors that match every aspect of the emotional range. When found in the raw, they are ruff and jagged. Only to become a work of beauty when it is cut and polished, with the cutter being life, and the lessons we learn are the many facets.
Although when I continue looking at the different things in nature I start to really think that I would describe myself like a tree, my roots firmly in the ground for the strength of my ancestors, the security of the firmness of the earth as well as nourishment. My trunk is the strength that I need to stand-alone. Topping this tree are my branches, which are always reaching to the heavens to discover new ideas, new worlds, to be moved by the winds of change, and warmed by the sun above.
This is how I see myself a great oak tree in the mother’s garden of existence, to grow, climb, nurture, and give shelter. Then finally in the twilight of my years, when my days are gone there will be many new trees to take root in what I have begun. Then the cycle will begin again, and all that once was will be anew. Living in this world and believing the way I do is an essential part of who I am. The closeness that I feel to the earth has always been with me. I have always considered myself a child of the earth and all who live in it, my kith and kin. As it is with all things of creation, this life will go on; to live, breath, give birth, and finally pass on to what ever is out there, only to once again breathe new life into a new creation what ever that may be.
Therefore, I submit this; a look into my being to see what you can see, to take what little knowledge I have to share with you. Granted you may not like what it is that you will see, but it is there for the viewing. I challenge you to look at yourselves in this nature, to find the elements in your own life, and maybe pass some good ideas along, for who know what the future will bring.
Being as close to nature that I am, I feel it apart of my responsibilities here in this life to pass on the love and respect that I have for all things in the natural world. If there where more people that thought as such, then the future would indeed be an awesome site to behold.
This was a creative descriptive eassy about myself that I had to write for an english comp class. I hope you enjoy it, and maybe learn alittle about me and yourself. Enjoy
