pieces...[V]

this is about Lebanon

we've got sandy beaches,we've got snowy mountains,we've got some good old country roads where's it's good to pic-nic or camp...
ppl are nice and wherever you pass in any village you come across you'll delightfully notice they're friendly and generous and forthcoming and all...
but that's the old Lebanon, the rural Lebanon before urbanism and economy took over...before hypocrisy became a way of life...before religious differences set countrymen against each other...
it sickens me how suddenly in a place that was so close to heaven we could hear angels sing everything fell apart in a heartbeat
it's like a master plan has been prepared for us to kill each other so that everybody who wants a piece of the cake can come and take as much they want...
everyday morning i take the bus to college...and the campus is in fanar on a hill over Beirut...and every morning i admire a city that's been turned to dust and has reborn many many times...for all of you members of the PROUDLY MADE IN LEBANON group i'm sure you understand...i'm sure that the phoenix's blood runs in your veins...just like this city that's been torn apart and blown off...blood and tears have flooded it's streets but it still stands...and we still stand...
a new generation they call us, the children of the war, the builders of a new found peace...but not all of us are part of allpoetry and not all of us have interests for culture and not all of us love this country...a country that so many ppl did their best to destroy...
i had a dream once...i was standing in the mountains on the highest peek, and i could see all the way to the end of the horizon, and all the way to there only poets lived...
if you're Lebanese you HAVE  to tell me what you think,it's our duty to fix Lebanon and don't tell me we can't do anything about it...don't go with the flow of cowards and cynics
it's time to rise from the social ashes

Sorry I was busy the last few days. Being Chinese, I couldn't give an extensive insight on Lebanon but I can definitely feel your pride and passion for your country. I guess this is intervene with politics, and how Lebanon have completely lost its freedom, as revealed by the pathetic fallacy. It seem now it is a military diktak where nature has diminished and people are manipulated into propaganda tools. Good luck and I wish that you can soon restore the great sense of pride for your country and live as Lebanon used to be.

I truly and greatly admire your love for your country and Beirut. I am an American, and although the World Trade Center was destroyed I still love New York City and want to live there. I also love the place where I live now, even though someone was killed just a few blocks from where I live just last night. We can never let the evil men and women keep us from loving what is great in our homes. As you said, that would be cowardly, and as a friend of mine used to say, "God hates a coward." God bless you, and i wish you and your home nothing but the best. Yours in hope - oce

Very strong writing. I can feel the dichotomy of your emotions.
It is a sin the way we have seen some places come to ruin. What once was beauty is now rubble and hopeless despair. I am not Lebanese, but I understand your feelings and emotions. You have expressed yourself very well and it tugs at the heart. This write is like a great cry of distress to Creator. I long for a day when all people realize their mistakes and we can live together in peace. Very well done! hugs - WolfHeart

I'm not Lebanese but I was very moved by what you have written here. I felt such an intense sense of deep-rooted strength and cultural pride coming through in this piece. I really enjoyed it, and just encourage you to continue to pursue the goals you have laid out here. Never let the ways of this world quell you or your aspirations.
