How do I add multiple images to my pages?

..

Available to GOLD MEMBERS only

First off, any images that you wish to add to your author page or posts must be found somewhere on the internet.  They cannot be copied and pasted directly from your computer.

Some members have created personal albums that they can upload their own personal images to and get the links from them.
www.photobucket.com is one that is used often.  Other members like to upload the images to AllPoetry in the custom backgrounds section, but I have found it difficult to find the images I want in a timely fashion.

Using an image from Photobucket.com:

First you will need to upload the image to the site from your computer.  After that is done, all you need to do is find the image you want to use and left click once within the top line (Url) and then right click and copy the link address.

Then, paste the link to MS Word or Notepad so you have it for quick retrieval when you are ready to put it on your page or post.

On your author page or post, click on the (edit) link to the side of your screen name, or under the title of your post.  Scroll down to where you type your information or poem, and figure out where you would like the image to go.

Just above the box where you type your information or post, at the top left hand corner, you will see six icons.

The third one from the left (looks like a picture/portrait) is the one you want to select.  Click on it and then in the top box next to Image URL: paste the copied link you got from the image from the internet (that hopefully you saved on MS Word or Notepad ).

Click OK and the image should appear.

Be careful that the image is not too big.  You may have to manually resize it.  But if you do, sometimes the images can become “corrupt” in a matter of speaking.  Just try to keep it in the same proportions as it was with its width and height.

Once you have added in all of your images, scroll down to the Edit Profile or Edit Poem or whichever button it happens to be and click it.

Using an image found on AllPoetry,
or from an outside source on the internet:

If you just want to use an image on AllPoetry or from another source on the internet, what you will need to do is find the image you want to put on your author page or post and then right click on it.  Click on Properties

In the box that pops up, find where it says “Address:” or “(URL)” and highlight and then copy it completely.

If you want to add more images, just repeat the above steps depending on where you get your images from.

Joanne, what internet browser are you using? Is it Mozilla FireFox or Internet Explorer, or Netscape? Or is it a totally different one?

I do not see the text boxes when I go to edit my author page. Is this because I am using a MAC? How can I get the text boxes to appear?

    Thanks,

    Joanne

    (great column....thanks)

Honestly, I think more use photobucket than AP. It’s easier to find the images (especially if you already have them stored) and saves server room on AP, which will make AP faster in the long run. But hey, that’s what is so awesome about giving people choices. And that is why I made sure to post this one………to give people choices.

Hey John I'm sure this is very helpful to some gold members who don't know how to do this. I've had to explain it to a couple and this helps a lot with the images on there. One suggestion would be to do the uploading like it does on this column, rather then going to an outside source:
    allpoetry.com/Column/1208897

    Just a suggestion, though

Wow, John... I've been wanting to put multiple pics on my author page but never knew how to do it before.... so I'm saving this in my bookmarks so I can refer others to it quickly and also printing it out for my personal use....Seems I always need to have the info right in front of me while I'm doing things liek this.

Thanks for such an informative and useful post

This is a good thing to tell others about, John. It took me a long time to learn how to do this, and I'm so glad that you occasionally put lessons on here for those who need to know thest things. Hugs, Patricia
