I heard about him through a book by Robert Cormier "After the First Death" It quotes his poem "A Refusal To Mourn The Death, By Fire, Of A Child In London." The book is very good, and after I had finished it I read the poem online, and it's now probably my favourite poem EVER.

It's awkward how i've come across this. I recently read one of his poems, a villanelle to be exact "Do not go gentle into that good night".

I read it in my creative writing class and I must say it was enjoyable. It was very symbolic and I loved the words he used. It took me some time to figure out the real meaning behind it but it all made sense after reading it a second time.

Happy Birthday Mr. Dylan Thomas and R.I.P. you were a great poet.

i like dylan thoma's poem do not go gently into that good night, it is one of my favorite symbolic poems.
He was a good poet, however i have always been under the opinion that he was a bit long winded.

Dylan Thomas is one of my all time favourite poets who used words as an artist paints strokes onto canvas. My study of the Swansea/Laugharne area where he was born, grew up, lived much of his life and was buried, makes much of his otherwise obscure imagery intensely clear.

Hehe, my Mum named my cat "Dylan Thomas Cat" so I just had to come along and see this. I have never read any of his poetry but I will make time soon to do so I think.
    Thanks OldPoetry team

Oh Dylan Thomas is one of the greatest poets of our time, I can think of not many others that i hold as high as I do him. He was brilliant with a great sense of himself and everything around him. I have allways enjoyed his work, you should somehow make a contest about this =)
