Now, recently i have been noticing an up cropping of people who don't seem to know how to check for grammar mistakes. and spelling for that matter. But the most common one that i have seen as of late is the your/you're issue. and the there/their/they're issue as well. But just to clarify:
Your is a possessive adjective. It means that this (insert object) belongs to (insert name).
You're is a contraction of the words "you" and "are." It is generally used to state that someone is somewhere doing something.
There is a location. as in: over there. or stating how many of something you have ex) there are twelve dogs in that kennel.
Their is a possessive adjective as well. as in: their dog is sniffing the flowers of their garden.
They're is a contraction of "they" and "are." it is used like "you're" in that one uses it to tell someone else that one or more other people are doing something.
