Think Outside the Square: Writing Publishable (Short) Stories
As a new writer, I wanted to write short stories.
I scoured the bookshops, but couldn’t find anything to teach me how to write them. I read gazillions of short stories and bought a ton of books on writing, but still couldn’t find anything specifically geared toward writing short stories.
It was a hard slog; without even a little bit of guidance, I felt like I was drowning. Even today, there is virtually nothing available that focuses totally on short story writing.
And let’s face it, writing short stories is completely different to writing novels, or any other form of writing. It’s a specialised area, and if you don’t understand the concepts, you just won’t sell your work. (And that’s what we’re all aiming for, right?)
After earning more than $500 on the sale of just one story, I decided to write the book that I needed back in those early days.

Intriging
Danna, I decided that everyday I would pick a person from my favorites and read their stuff and spend my applause supporting them. Today it is you, and I am thrilled that I made that choice. I have asked for writing book for my upcoming birthday and this may well be one of them. It covers a genre I am very interested in, and is a workshop type book which is my favorite. I have never purchased an e-book before however, so that is holding me back. I will show this to the birthday gift buyer--lol- the husband.

This is an excellent presentation on what you wanted to get across and your right there is nothing on how to write short story's..but getting started for me is always the hardest part then I find someone has penned something just about like it on the Internet and have to ditch the whole blessed thing...
Pen on sis and hoping your dreams come true
Love n hugs

Job well done
Well I use to like writing stories when I was a kid but now as an adult it seems like all the creativeness has run out, you sure have done your search on your stuff I will be sure to browse more at a later time. -
gods each time i get ready to ready one of these columns youve written, something comes up lol. But now that i've read this i honestly agree with you that the world of being an author is hard and fault by trial...cause hopifully soon i'll have my first published book out(if everything goes according to plan). Anyways with this column you've went up and beyond the heights of telling how the world of authors go even if this was inspired by another book that you happened upon in a bookstore.
Keep it up

I have wanted to do just what you've done. Getting started is always the clincher. Not only that but what type of stories are of interest to the readers is also important. I think that this is great that you've accomplished what many of us only dream of. Write On!

Nice promotional constructed page.I've read some of the information and saved it in my favorites to view later.
You always seem to have a real talent for written promotions. If I should ever by sheer chance, and it would be that, come up with a killer story. I'm hiring you,if I can afford your services that is.Grand job in this!~~~Suseann
