This is more than an ingredient in a recipe. Spanning 1865 to 1997, the book is my great-grandmother and grandmother’s life story, as told by her before she passed. It is accompanied by the memories of family members and friends. I have added just a dash of fiction to give it more flavor. Based in Louisiana, with all its flair and Southern culture, it describes the experiences throughout history, contributing to the shaping of the generations.

About the author:

I am confident that my writing will be a catalyst to help souls who are in negative downward spirals. I thank God every day for my parents and Grandmother’s encouragement, without it I would not be alive. I think that writing is the way for me to use my life experiences to help others know that they can get out of gangs, do some positive things that can make just as much money legally as selling drugs, themselves or others out.

For me it took a relationship with God to show me that there is a reason for my existence, a positive beautiful purpose. At this point in my life the only cuts I have to worry about are paper, and the only shots are my beautiful children’s immunizations.

I think that is something we need to work on continuously, just like any relationship.

I of course love the name, anything Cajun.. wonder how many are going what's Roux? Grinning (I am too Southern for my own good Danna) but I had a sad thought while I read her Authors notes. Could that be what is wrong with me lately? I haven't connected in a way I know I need to with God? Perhaps.. enough rambling.. Take Care and Thank you for the book ideas.. Catressa

Great job! I love both of my Gramma's! I just earned the trust of the Gramma on my dad's side....ever since I was 3 she would never believe me cuz she could swear that I was an actress and never told the truth even though I didn't lie to her. NOw she is the nicest person. This is a really nice message to bring out to ppl! It is good that you are no longer in a gang and are on the good side of life! I wish you and your children the best!

    Not yet decided

Writing is a way of preserving memories and passing on experiences. That can only be done through story-telling and exemplifying the lives of those people we value. I have not yet read that book but probably will... Interesting enough, such books tell also a lot about the writer and his/her perspective on all of that
