Religion in my opinion is nothing more that a way to market God into a package that caters to what everyone is willing to give up or sacrifice in the service of the Lord almighty and therefore has nothing to do with what it really means to be with christ and live in faith and service to God.
My beliefs are that 'Religion' is not faith it is the watered down version of faith processed and packaged to make people feel that they are living a righteous life with the least amount of effort.
Faith requires sacrifice, trials, tribulations, suffering. Faith requires a commitment to your convictions to follow God and his teachings unconditionally.

Powerful and very wise words. I agree with your opinion. It is extremely sad when people judge, destroy, and kill each other over religion in Gods name. There are many things about many people that I myself don't understand but I still try to accept and love with an open heart. I admit I haven't gone to any church in a long time but I hold my own in my heart and always pray to God every day. That for me is truly fulfilling because I know God accepts me and loves me for who I am, A child of god I will always be. Best Wishes, Nita

seem to have little to no understanding of what religion is and how important it is to our society.Yes you make somewhat of a point
in poem but truth be told your view is very one sided,I guess thats why you called it "In my opinion".Religion believe it or not is one of the reason we are able to live in stable societies in the sense that hey,with the thought of religion people won't go around killing every person they see left,right and centre.Because greater than the laws of society
they will be thinking"hey will I go to hell or whatever"(crude example).I'm sorry if I offended you but I go into a frenzy when I hear"In my opinion"people talking crap.

I really enjoy reading you always, but his write is... well... very touching and inspiring. Makes me think of all the reasons why i have God in my life. In this life i have done my share of sin. I pushed God away, and my life was about to end. Now that I have found him once again, I am not going to lose my faith in his name. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I know it touched my heart and I am sure it will touch the heart of many others. Thanks again.

It's a refreshing breath of air though, for someone like me who is only "religious" in the sense that I follow one religion.... well, mostly. lol
The word I love to use is "spiritual." To me, it implies that my faith is more than just a Sunday morning, in-crowd thing.
