When is God closest to me?

"When is God closest to you? How do you know when you are close to God
and when you are not close to God?"

These days it seems like I am far away from God even though I am praying, reading His Word, and writing again for the allpoetry.com website. I am struggling with personal family issues and major spiritual warfare at my workplace. Most days, it is all I can do to “put on the armor of God” and just throw myself into God’s will for the day.

I may be right in the middle of God’s will for me, and that is why my life seems so rough – like the apostles in the boat in the middle of the storm. But I know Jesus is with me for he will never leave me or forsake me. I know that to be truer than true for it is written in His Word and on my heart.

A few weeks ago at Church during worship, I received a Word from the Lord. Basically He told me to “be strong and fearless.” Immediately, I received the same word but with a different emphasis. The Lord told me to “be strong and fear less.” So in all I am doing I am trying to fear less. Fear less at home. Fear less at work. Fear less about finances. Fear less about my children and mother-in-law. FEAR LESS!

I know I am close to God when he speaks to my spirit.
I know I am close to God when I am lost is praise and worship.
I know I am close to God when I can receive direction from the Holy Spirit in the middle of a crisis.
I know I am close to God when He gives me songs to calm my fears.
I know I am close to God when I stop and He is right there with me.
I know I am close to God when I FEAR LESS and trust more.
