A Writer You Should Know About: Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore

.

I came to offer thee a flower,
but thou must have all my garden —
It is thine.

When death comes and whispers to me,
"Thy days are ended,"
let me say to him, "I have lived in love
and not in mere time."
He will ask, "Will thy songs remain?"
I shall say, "I know not, but this I know
that often when I sang I found my eternity."

Again, you have spotlighted a favorite of mine. Many years ago, when I was still singing. I learned several songs from the Gitanjali. My favorite was "On the sea shore of endless worlds." Wish I still had the music -it's beautiful and so very different.
