i'm scaring myself . . .

I am a writer . . .  I should NOT be able to do this . . . .

Factor by grouping:

r^2 - 6t - 2tr + 3r

(r^2 + 3r) (-2tr - 6t )

r ( r + 3)    -2t ( r + 3 )

(r - 2t ) (r + 3)

but if you foil that . . . .

r^2 - 2tr + 3r -6t

IT'S RIGHT!!!!

WTF, man?

    WHat is this? Calculus? Plaque?

Seriously, though, analytical skills and such come in handy in life - even for artists and poets. What makes us useful is logic and common sense - including skills you're demonstrating here. So keep on going to that class!

I found that the ability to "make sense" of abstract ideas came in handy at my first job as an artist - in digital type technology. It involved reasoning and numbers as much as or more than "art" skills. I was one of the few designers to "get it" which put me at a distinct advantage.

Me, the one who avoided advanced math in high school.

Irony? Now I'm married to a man with a PHD - in Math.
My son, though he writes well, hates English and art. Likes - numbers - business, math, physics, and now psychology.

    No more cutting class!

This is Math 020, three classes below "college level" math, lol

I cut class because fellow students were referring to the infinity symbol as "sideways eight" and "double zero", and I was ready to shoot a hobbit

      I won't ditch again . . . I guess

I agree that it can come in handy . . . In my own art, I've started working with fractals, and that's very math oriented.

I graduated from high school because I *didn't* need that Algebra II class, lol. I knew that I was speaking at graduation before I knew if I was graduating.

      Ah, sweet irony.

I think that I learned this, because this week,
I didn't text my best friend and ask her to call during break
to say that she had been rushed to the hospital, requiring me to leave immediately and hide in the library
