Live or let die
Money is the root cause of all evil and the medical profession is no exception in this regard
To look at the classic scene in the Hindi film "Anand" between one doctor and the another one in the same expanse as that of "Rob Paul and pay Peter"
India doesnt boast of a single regulatory authority to channelise the financial shenanigans of a dozen middlemen and an equal number of Third Party Administrators [TPAs]
There is just no authority to regulate how much a particular doctor should charge a patient as fees, some sort of a grid based on criteria such as economic background supported by some documents, the nature of illness or disease,et al
There is again no regulatory body to supervise how much hospitals should charge for a particular illness and the room charges
There has to be a standardisation and there has to be adherence.
KEM hospital boasts one of the best RMOs who are in their internships but it also lacks infrastructure and support services which can be termed as hygienic in every sense of the term
Hospitals need to treat patients like humans and not like robots who can have catheters thrust into their vital organs
Hospitals should look at the kith and kin of these patients with the empathy that warrants the treatment meted out to humans and yes we do not even treat our pets like this
I read in an article in the Hindustan Times how a son in rural Maharashtra could just watch his father sitting in a corner and whose both the kidneys had failed due to the saline water in their land and just because the son did not have the financial wherewithal to treat him
It was a sad picture of human apathy and civic apathy and also the government apathy
We have just elected our candidates ---for nothing ---of nothing----by nothing
The Parties will party throughout and all the common man will get is bhashan on how the voting percentage was less and nothing else
It is a pity that we have such a huge human capital but we just cannot invest it anywhere!
Our government has the loaf to create reservations for all different tribes but cannot create a social security for the Indians
India attained independence but its inhabitants are still dependent in their own way!
The rich have become richer and poor are becoming poorer and going below poverty line
India lost everything during partition not to mention the INR 55 crores given to our neighbours and notwithstanding the Hindus who had to return forcibly to India and the Kashmiri Pandits -more recently
What China did to Tibet ;India failed to do in Kashmir!
I can go on and on and on but then the problem just overwhelms you
We will continue to languish in extreme anguish and
ONE SWALLOW NEVER A SUMMER MAKE!
My poem given below sums up the mess we are in!
Indig-nation Country's flags are sold for a penny.
Mouths to feed are more than many.
Economy is on the upswing.
Common man has next to nothing.
Selling of flesh is the best trade.
Unless you like being in the red.
Clothes cover important points.
Leaving scope for whore joints.
Pimps make hay while the moon shines.
Sun hides his face as morality declines.
Independence was sought for this day.
The country to be ruled this way.
Of the people,no one from the people,
Not for the people,Not by the people.
Pure anarchy let loose.
Debt narrows the noose,
On the country's neck.
Who is there to check?
Corruption powers on,
Powers carry on,
Nation thrives,
Frustration survives!
