"Offing" Granny for Votes, Bucks, and Monarchy

“Offing” Granny for Votes, Bucks, and Monarchy

On September 9, 2009, before a joint session of the United States Congress, President Obama casually mentioned, in passing three key points to note: First, his vision of healthcare would, (at the expense of every living man, woman, and child, under penalty of law, fine – up to $25,000, and/or jail – up to one year, for a mere 874 billion to 1.6 trillion dollars - to start) provide a healthcare safety net for “30 million Americans”. Secondly, he would not sign legislation , which provides “insurance” to a single illegal alien (those who used to be known as “undocumented”). And finally, this (socio-fascist confiscation and adulteration of one-sixth of the nation’s 12-14 trillion dollar economy) would be “revenue neutral”. Mr. Obama stated, “not one dime to our deficits - either now or in the future”.

Then on September 16th , Max Baucus (D-MT) Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee introduced, without bi-partisan support, a 500 billion dollar reduction to the Medicare budget over 10 years starting in 2013. The Medicare budget includes an average annual fraud rate of 10% or about 60 billion dollars. And he also proposed cutting 123 billion dollars from Medicare Advantage, on which one in four of the 43 million Medicare recipients depend.
What happened to the 47 million hopelessly uninsured of just a few days prior? Could 17 million of them be the “undocumented” who will disappear through immigration reform now being proposed in the US Senate by Charles “chuck” Schumer (D-NY) and in the US House of Representatives by Zoe Lofgren (D-CA). Between “anchor babies” and immigration reform (amnesty), in a few years the 17 million will easily become 68 million while small families, birth control, or abortion remain the mainstay of the now “traditional” American family. According the US Bureau of Census, the United Stated records 1 birth every 7 seconds, a net gain of 1 new immigrant every 36 seconds, and taking the death rate (1 every 13 seconds) into account, the United States shows a net gain of 1 person every 11 seconds. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, a liberal non-profit organization frequently quoted in the media, puts the number of uninsured Americans who do not qualify for current government programs and make less than $50,000 a year at between 8.2 and 13.9 million. That is a much smaller figure than the 47 million the media enjoys reporting. In addition the 8.2 million figure for the chronically uninsured and only includes those uninsured for two years or more. It is also worth noting that 45 % of uninsured people will be uninsured for less than four months according to the Congressional Budget Office.

The current crop of seniors (granny included) and baby boomers, with a normal life expectancy of 78 years according to the CDC, are counted, catalogued, and soon to be dismissed in favor of a young, revenue-generating, homogeneous electorate. Trading 43 million now “iffy” votes for an ever-expanding 60-70 million votes down the road will establish a new monarchy and coincidental feudal system for generations to come as did the 1964 Civil Rights Act, passed under the administration of President Lyndon B. Johnson (D-TX) who at the time had a poor record on civil rights issues. The senate vote was 73 for (31 Republicans and 42 Democrats) to 27 against (6 Republicans and 21 Democrats). Results were similar in the US House of Representatives. Overlooking the fact that Republicans were the key to passing this legislation, this has created 95% Democrat voting block for nearly the past 45 years. Co-opting the immigrant vote will be child’s play for the Democrats; and as a matter of fact, a much better bet than the aging senior citizen population or increasing informed pool of minority voters.

So, where is granny’s pal, the AARP, a “kissing cousin” of the Democrats? They are, have been, and will continue to be in bed with the current and future Democrat administrations. All businesses act in their own self-interest and this one (AARP) is essentially an insurance agent, selling life, home and auto insurance with “fluff” and “perks” which facilitate its core goal - selling insurance and collecting its “cut”, lobbing for favorable treatment from Congress, and once in a while working in the best interests of the seniors who pay the bills.

As for “revenue neutral”. There are no free lunches! An increase in the growing number of baby boomers will expose this Ponzi scheme in short order, as it has with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, et al.

How can one possible believe the latest government “fix” won’t work? Social Security – broke, War on Poverty – the number of people remaining under the poverty line remains statistically unchanged in 45 years, affordable housing - mortgage crisis and economic collapse, Medicare – collects only 57 cents of every dollar it spends and this will decline to 43 cents by 2030, and a host of other entitlements, which the government advertises and can’t give away fast enough. Then there are the quasi-government supported deficit contributors: The United States Post Office – billions in debt annually. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – worthless, and AMTRAK – perennially in deficit, the Federal Reserve – hocus pocus, to mention a few.

New “worker bees” can expect to be accepted with open arms into unions such as the SEIU (Service Employees International Union), UFW (United Farm Workers of America), and AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor – Congress of Industrial Organizations) and it’s affiliates, UAW (United Auto Workers), all of whom eagerly seek their numbers, dues, and potential voting/bargaining power.

On the plus side, these new citizens may provide the potential labor pool to conduct the 2010 census filling the vacuum left by ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now).

Fortunately we have the Supreme Court to curtail any unconstitutional aspects of this healthcare legislation: such as forced participation, invasion of privacy, or violations of the equal protection provision of the US Constitution. After all, President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s (D-NY) attempt to stack the Supreme Court with addition justices, who favored his programs under the National Recover Act of 1933, failed. So Mr. Obama will have to depend on attrition to add more liberal justices to the court aided perhaps by legislation proposed by Senator Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee September 8th. S:1653, The Federal Judgeship Act of 2009 would establish a total of 63 new permanent and temporary judgeships across the country, including 12 circuit judgeships.

  • Great job. It is a pleasure to see the figures you mentioned in your third paragraph in print. I heard about them on the radio the other day. Surprise, surprise, it was a Canadian news broadcast. The broadcast was an interview with an American economist as Canadians were dismayed about how strongly we reject their equally broken system. Although it is much vaunted and the Canadians do not admit it internationally, there are many problems with the system.

Furthermore, there is no one going without healthcare in the US. Anyone that needs it can merely walk through the emergency room door and get immediate healthcare. Preventive medicine and cosmetic stuff of course are not covered.

You are absolutely right that this will not be free. Anyone who thinks so either has no concept of government and money or they are in a drug-induced haze. This will be a bigger disaster than the Great Stimulus Package of 2009. Where did the money go?

Don't get me started on that ...

Thanks Mike... The dirty little secret is I wrote a lot of this stuff months ago and some in Oct 08. I waited lately for Baucus to release his magical plan and watched as 360 proposed amendments went in the toilet. What is the next trick? 1. No one is going to see what is behind the door until "Monte Hall" has sold it. And/or 2. They will tag this crap on another bill already approved in the House like Cap and Trade and slip it through in the middle of the night. I am still working on my Healthcare V rant. Some many things appear to be changing but in reality nothing is changing and what has been seen and exposed is what we will have to live with. After all, New York, California, MA, Oregon, and Hawaii haven't run out of other peoples money yet. Me I'm 62... Time to go on the dole.

      • If it is too good to be true, it probably is. This is what happens when you have a country full of educated people with no real intelligence. I wonder if the woman from Florida ever got that car payment she was expecting from Barack Obama.

This does not mean that I think that all ideas of Democrats are automatically stupid. I think the far right and the far left are equally horrifying. Good Lord though, let's have some intelligent discussion. Maybe we need a new centrist party.

I am not worried about you going on the dole.... aren't oldies like you are earmarked for oblivion under the plan?

Keep kickin ass and taking names
