Hi everyone.. Well, as some of you may or may not know, I had a computer meltdown after moving in August.. It took awhile to save up the money to have it repaired (especially right after the huge expense of moving) but it is fixed now..
I've missed everyone but have been tremendously busy settling into my quaint little farmhouse.. I've had to buy some furniture and other household items so that has kept me pretty broke too, so my computer was put on the back burner for awhile..
I really LOVE this place, you would not believe the peace and quiet out here after having to live in a downstairs apartment beneath a 6 year old spoiled rotten, tantrum throwing, tyrant for so long..
Feather (my lovely cat) has stopped being so nervous and running under the bed at the slightest sound, she lies in the open window (screens, of coarse) on her rug and watches the birds.. I do let her out everyday for awhile, but, in truth, she doesn't seem to like to be outside very much and usually comes in after just a few minutes.. Surprised the heck out of me, I thought she'd really love the outdoors..
I've been having such fun fixing this old place up but still have a long way to go.. The kitchen in particular needs a good coat of paint but that's something to think about next year..
My landlord is a great guy, he lives just down the road and comes immediately if I need him, but never bothers me otherwise.. This was his mother's house and the house he and his siblings were born in.. It's been in his family for 80 years or so.. He's so tickled to have someone who really loves it as much as he does, I guess he's had his share of destructive tenants this past few years..
I also love the fact that my friend Vera and her daughters Jane and Judy live only 2 miles down the road.. It makes this old lady feel a lot safer and secure knowing I have friends nearby.. I will take some pictures of the place and this lovely countryside I'm now a part of and put them on soon.. I often house sit for Jane as she is out of the state a lot.. She has 2 cats and her dog, Maggie, a Westie, is getting on in years, so she really appreciates my being able to 'dogsit' as well..
Well guys, that's about it for now.. I just wanted to let you all know I was still alive and kicking and that I will be coming in more often, but until winter gets here, I won't be on very much.. The former tenants planted a lovely garden and I've been tending it everyday.. Hmmm, fresh tomatoes, corn, zucchini (which I hate, ugh) and lovely big strawberrys.. Yummy..
Anyway, take care all.. Love to you and I will be back in soon.. I will also try and answer any messages that come my way after today.. Cya soon.. Calli
