Today, Mark Rickerby came to visit. This excellent poet and outstanding writer dropped in at my invitation and we spent, in the company of his working friend "Dean", the day here in the Harbor admiring the many gifts displayed by the Harbor Days booth vendors and the US Marine Corp which had a static display as well as vehicle/hover craft.
But, the highlight wasn't in exibits, nor was it "gifts" to buy or even the excellent food .... the highlight was his visit. Mark is a Truly gifted Poet and if you have not ventured his way, do so. The trip will be well worth the visit. Read his poems, writings, and even order one of his books and you will be entertained by an excellent poet and writer.
Mark is a true friend. High morals and gifted personality are his natural mental state and he brings to each person he meets a special way of looking at the world which is unique and loving. Claudia his wife is a true partner to Mark. She combines all that Mark is not and much of what he is into a hard working gentle person.
Thanks for your visit Mark and Claudia, and Dean and I hope to see you again soon.
Allpoetry has given me the pleasure of meeting so many good people. Touchof1der, FoolsNo1, HoplessScribbles, davidwright, Beret55, Cannonsfire, and so many other friends. I thank you Kevin for creating this site, having the imagination to mold it into a place for friends and for having the expertise to be able to combine your dream into a business ...the only way it could possibly have survived the growing stages of Internet Travails. Ty! Bro. Good on you!
Friendships developed on Allpoetry.com, unique, lasting, true friendships are there if you need, desire, or are just lucky enough to enter one. I have been lucky in the friends I've met here on this site and in real life. Today I met such a friend from AllPoetry.com and its truly a pleasure I intend to repeat as often as possible.

This is such a beautiful gesture on your part, Chuck. You're always thinking of the other person and I would say everyone is blessed to know you. I know I am and always will be. You've got one of the kindest and most loyal hearts that could only be of a true warrior! Love and prayers to you--always!

I saw this note on my notes and couldn't resist sharing my own story. I have met some great people on here as well, though none as special as Ted E Bare. Through his goofiness, he still manages to drop some powerful insight in. He came for a visit about two years ago and stayed a week. In that week, we became closer than I thought ever possible with someone online. Even now, we are still great friends, and I still call him to whine and complain. And he listens. It truly is a great thing to find fellow writers that also become pretty much best friends

Thanks, Chuck! Of course, the feeling is mutual. Dean was very impressed with your personality and knowledge. We had a great time. I was telling Claudia about it last night and she eventually found out that they had downsized pirate day a little - less pirates, no big boats, etc. - and asked, "Were you disappointed?" I said, "Heck, no! I went down there to see Chuck, not some big boat!" lol Besides, we did see a big boat. I'm still trying to get the sand out of my hair from the hovercraft taking off! What a sight that was.
To any friends of Chuck's who read this, make the trip down to Oceanside. It's not often one gets to go to paradise with a guided tour by a true warrior-poet! You couldn't find a better host if you searched for 100 years.
As you know, with recent events, I needed a day of fun and laughter, so thanks again for everything, buddy. See you again soon.
