Artemis’s Story





Prologue

It all began when Kat and Kaz found out that Kat was pregnant. This would be their third child. They already had two beautiful daughters. Dina who was age twelve and Crescent who was age ten. Now in the world they lived in there were humans but not many of them. Most of the populations were anaracs, people that are half human half animal. Before they had children Kat and Kaz defeated a man named Damon SR. He was a powerful wizard that wanted all the power in the world. After defeating him and having children they realized that their children had powers to. Dina’s were great but crescents were much more intense. Little did they know that crescents power would one day be no match for Artemis’s power?


Ch.1
About two weeks after Artemis Was born Kat and Kaz were killed in battle. Dina raised her sisters with great knowledge about who they were and what their parents were and how great they were. When Artemis was six they realized her power was as strong as crescents was at the age of sixteen. With such power there comes trouble. Damon Jr. The son of the wizard Damon SR. wanted the power he kid napped all three girls and made them his slaves. Artemis was put under a spell by Dina to keep her six until Dina Thought she could get her out of the hands of evil. In doing such all three girls were now trapped at the age they were. Dina at eighteen, Crescent at sixteen and little Artemis at six.
Lots of years went by and Dina was kept as a pleasure slave, Crescent a maid/pleasure slave, and poor little Artemis just a little child was kept at King Damon Jr’s side. Like a little doll she pranced around the castle for years not knowing how evil he was he had placed a mask on in front of her to hide the horror of the truth from her. As the years drew on the king came to love Artemis he threaten Dina with death if she didn’t release the spell, but knowing he wouldn’t kill her she refused. After this Artemis began to realize that he was playing her like a cat on a string.
Using her against her sisters, forcing a wedge between them. When she realized this she was furious. For thousands of years she had thought his love for her was real. Now she seen he only wanted the power she possessed. She went to her sisters in the night when the king had fallen asleep and together they formed a plan.
The next morning Artemis went about her day as usual acting as if she still had no clue about the kings’ evil behavior. At dinner time Artemis sat in the small corner acting sad and depressed. When ask what was wrong she simply just shrugged. She didn’t eat dinner and when she was swept off to hers and the kings’ room the king sat her down. “Artemis my dear little doll, what troubles you so that you not eat.” She shrugged and said “I saw Dina in here with you the other night and it upset me I thought you said I was yours. You’re my Damon not hers” he laughed and pulled the small being onto his lap. “Artemis you look the age of six but are truly remarkable you have the felling and thoughts of a grown woman.” She nuzzled his neck and wept. He cradled her thinking her tears were from the lack of felling importance. What he didn’t know was that at this very moment her sisters were out side his window getting ready to send in a spell to kill him. “Artemis my dear, please don’t cry anymore it saddens me to see you this way.” She looked up at him tears streaming down her face. “Do you really love me Damon do you or is it my power you love.” He looked at her for a moment then answered. “At first it was your power that is why I took you and your sisters but you have grown on me. I love you like I have never nor will I ever love another as much as you.” She cuddled up to him one last time then went to grab her book he read to her from every night. As she was doing so a green flash flew in the window and she heard a soft plop on the floor. She turned tears running down her face like marathon runners. The spell had worked. She ran like planed to the door and waiting for her was Dina. She scooped Artemis up and they ran out the door down the stairs and out of the palace and kingdom for ever. Deep in her heart as they raced thought the wood Artemis wished there would be a way just one way it could have gone different for Damon to have truly loved her.
As the weeks and months went by Artemis sat thinking. One day she asked Dina “can you take the spell off I want to grown up. I’m tired of being six.” Dina nodded and spoke the spell to lift the ageing spell. Years went by but still Artemis felt empty. She wanted to feel love again.
One day she was sitting in a tree out in the woods be hind her house. When she noticed a man walking through them. She jumped down and asked him to state his name and his business in her woods. He answered “im sorry young lady I didn’t realize this woods was owned by any one and my name is Ki” she smiled at him realizing he is the most handsome guy she has seen since Damon. “Please do come to the cabin and refresh your self. We have good food and water.” He accepted gratefully. As they walked into the clearing where the cabin was he gasp as he saw crescent doing a growing spell on the garden. Artemis felt scared that he might run away. “You have powers to” “yes but I…” he smiled and said “I have them to I can read minds and do small spells.” “Really then what am I thinking right now” he smiled and closed his eyes then laugh. “You shouldn’t really think of me a sexy stranger that you would love to be on top of. It’s not proper.”
She gasps as he said this for she was thinking about being in his arms lying on top of him. The only thought she has had since she seen him is wanting to be with him at all cost. “No you don’t little missy” she gave him a scornful look and said “you don’t know what I want your not me and your not my father” Damn he thought. ‘I’ve known he for less than and hour and already I’m screwing things up’ he sighed then said “im sorry I offended you but im not the kind of person anyone would want with their daughter. I’m sorry if this hurts you in any way.” She thought so only they could hear. “Meet me to night down by that river we past and we will talk I need to talk to you alone.” Then she said after sighing “its fine I just jumped the gun its no big deal. Please will you join us for dinner? You can sleep in the barn to night if you like.” Little did Artemis know that off in the distance a man from her past was looking in on her waiting to take her back?




Ch. 2


That night Ki was waiting for the signal in the barn telling him she was on her way. The barn was right by the river so it wasn’t seen by the house. He felt sick. Never did he feel like just talking with a pretty girl could get him into trouble or make him want more than talking. Artemis was beautiful though. Not like the other girls who just wanted a one niter she wanted a relationship. A real relationship not a fake one were people think there in love she wants the real thing. But could he ever be what she needed let alone truly wanted. As he seen her walking through the woods he gasps at how beautiful she looks in the moonlight. Goddess almighty, why did she have to look so darn good? She walked into the barn as he opened the door for her.
She had been trying to keep her mind off of him not knowing how much he could really hear. “I can hear everything your thinking” she blushed then said “I have a few questions, one do you think im pretty, two do you want to leave, three do you think your life is dangerous enough for you to have to stay away.” He smiled and said “one No two yes. Three yes.” Tear weld up in her eyes and she started to leave he caught her arm and said. “The reasons are no I don’t think your pretty I think you’re down right gorgeous, I want to leave but I want you to come with me, and I know my life is dangerous and having you with me would prove it for both but with out you I don’t know how id keep going. You’re the most spectacular girl I’ve ever met.” She thought ‘please please let him kiss me I want to feel his lips on mine. Is he a soft kisser or a rough eager one’ “let me show you” he said. She blushed forgetting he could read minds. Before she knew it his mouth was on hers like liquid fire. It was soft and gentle but left the felling of a long hard passionate kiss.
While they were kissing Dina came to see where Artemis ran off to. When she opened the barn doors she saw them kissing each other like they were married. She thought knowing he would hear ‘good thing Damon is dead or he would be pissed.’ They both jumped away from each other. Ki asked “who is Damon!” with an angered look on his face. Artemis cringed with the mention of the man she thought loved her name. ‘He is my old master’ she thought knowing that would be easier than saying it. She thought about the night he died for the first time in years. The face that used to lull her to sleep was now the face that hunted her thoughts. She saw the repeat of that night as if were happening again. She could hear off in the distance his lulling voice saying “I don’t blame you Artemis I still love you”
Sorrow settled in her heart. It had been so long since she heard his voice. She had longed for it so many nights. After the night of his death she thought she could hear him calling her into the woods but Dina always caught her. Little did she know but Ki saw the flash back and was shocked he felt all the emotions she could have never shared with her sisters. He gently wrapped his arm around her and said “im sorry you went through so much pain. I promise I will try to make it go away.”
The next morning Artemis walked out to the barn. When she got there she saw Ki his hair tossed by the wind, shirtless leaving his auburn skin glistening in the son like a god. She saw his muscular abs and arms. His deep ice blue eyes staring at her thinking about some thing, if only she could hear what he was thinking maybe he wouldn't scare he so much. Just then she thought what if he didn’t mean what he said last night. What if it was all a lie to make me let him kiss me? What if this is one of his small spells?
He thought why she would think that. She is a goddess with auburn shin and burgundy hair. Her wolf-like ears pointed up in high gear mode. He slender body wagging with her tail swaying behind her. She is a goddess from above sent to torment all the men who can’t have her he was just the lucky one for now to have her.
She walked over to him and he wrapped his arms around her. “Please don’t ever question my love for you. You’re beautiful and it’s not a spell you’re the one that has me entranced with your natural beauty. You’re the one who has me in the spell.” Just then he lent down and brushed his lips against hers. All her nerves froze she couldn’t move except for when he started to pull away and she deepened the kiss. She thought knowing he could hear her ‘I love you, I don’t know how or why but I do please don’t ever leave me’ “promise” he groaned into the kiss. His hands traveled down her sides. She was wearing a knee length sun dress with a soft pink satin bow around the white material. He gently pulled her into the barn and lied with her on top of him grinding against him like she was a pro at this kind of thing though looking deep into her mind he knew she had never before done this. Neither had he for that matter.
She unbuttoned his jeans and slide them to the floor lying on top of him, she moaned as his hands found her zipper to the dress as he flung it to the floor he showed her a new trick. He spoke to her through his mind “artemis can you hear me im talking to you telepathically.” “Yes I hear you” he smiled into the kiss. “Artemis if you want to stop you better do it know because if this goes much farther I won’t be able to.” “I don’t want to stop I love you and I want to make you mine.” About that time they heard a loud crash out side. They jumped up put cloths back on and as they ran out side he said to her “im sorry” she answer telepathically like he did “its okay”
When they got out of the barn Artemis blood ran cold. Standing in front of her was the man she had tried so hard to forget but he had slipped in and out of her memory. Damon stood with Dina looped beneath his arm. “Artemis I’ve missed you” tears stung her eyes. How much had he seen of her barn incident? ‘Nothing, he saw nothing or it would be on his mind.’ She smiled shyly and took a step towards Damon. He stepped back which hurt in her heart. “Damon I…. I missed you to” he smiled at her and said “I know you did princess, I know you did.” He tossed Dina a side and grabbed Artemis. Smoothing her hair he holds her tight. “Damon I….” “Shhhhh” he said “I know I could fell your heart pulling at mine. It was your sisters not you. Its okay baby I’m home now. I’m home. Daddy is home.” This struck a nerve in Artemis. He is not her father.
“YOU’RE NOT MY FATHER” she screams as she pushes him away. “KAZ SHINZO IS MY FATHER NOT YOU” “YOUR NOTHING MORE THAN A POWER HUNGRY MONSTER.” She slaps him hard across the face. He hisses in pain. “What are you doing? They have turned you from me. You were my little princess. My little girl…” she cuts him off “I was not nor will I ever be yours Damon. I’m not a piece of property.” He stared at her sheepishly then with a scared and excited expression said “what is happening to you?” she looks down and her whole body is glowing red with anger.



Ch.3

Damon backed up immediately. “Artemis I love you and you love me don’t do any thing you’re going to regret.” “I did love you but you lied to me you said I was your girl, that I was the only one. You lied and it hurt, but now I have a life to look towards and you’re not in it so leave now or I will kill you and the right way this time.” He stumped as she shot a blue light out of her palm. “NOW” she screamed. Then he left threw the woods like he came.
Ki stood shocked at what had just happened. Then he looked at Artemis who had begun to cry. He wrapped his arms around her as she buried her head in his chest. “Artemis I have to leave but I will come back I don’t know when and I don’t know how but I will. Your sister has a new farm hand coming in today and he will look after you while I’m gone.” He said telepathically. She stepped back looking into his eyes and said “I understand you must go I don’t know why but I feel you must. I can’t promise I’ll wait though.” “I understand” he said while kissing her lips lightly.
They walked back up to the house where Artemis saw a nice looking gentle man. About her and Ki’s age. Not as well dressed or built as Ki but still all in all good looking. She could since that Ki was a bit upset with her thoughts. ‘I’m sorry I can’t help it if he is a bit attractive.’ She thought. He whispered in her ear. “You wouldn’t be thinking he was hot if you knew what he was thinking about doing to you right now.” She gave him an evil glare then slipped up to the house and greeted the man. “Hello my name is….” He cut her off. “Artemis I know. Your sister told me and like your little boyfriend there I can read minds.” She blushed a bit from anger and embarrassment. “He isn’t exactly my boyfriend… he is ummm… well okay I guess you could call him my boyfriend.”
She was still thinking about how lonely she was going to be when he left when he came in and asked to talk to her alone. They walked down to the lake. Once they were there he took her hand and pulled her to him. Kissing her full on the lips he said. “I love you. I know it might be soon but I can’t help it I love you...” she cut him off. “I love you to please stay with me forever.” He smiled then finished “I wish I could but it’s too dangerous I had a vision it’s not safe for you if I’m around.” He kissed her bye then walked off into the dark leaving her there to miss him.
