This is my character in the Year 50,000 RP
Name: Daeren Norris

Age: 30

Build: Lean and wiry.

Abilities: A professional roulette player.

Xtra abilitiy (No more than 2): Used to be in the military and was a telepath. Lost the ability when he was given a medical discharge from the military and stopped receiving the doses of Xtra. He chose to quit cold turkey rather than buy the drug from street dealers.

Hair
Length: Just above his collar. Daeren is clean-shaven.
Colour: Brown
Style: Clipped short, but is normal-length, not a buzz cut.

Eye Colour: Blue. His right eye is a prosthetic. He lost it during a battle.

Clothing: Comfortable but occasionally dresses extremely well when he wishes to play in one of the higher-stakes casinos.

Any weapons: Carries a .9mm Barretta and keeps a skean dhu in his right boot.

Other equipment: He has a collection of about 200 books on various forms of gambling, though his specialty is roulette.

Personality: Observant, intelligent, makes himself pleasant to be around. He is not flashy. Prefers to dress in comfortable, casual clothing. Is generally honest.

History: Grew up poor, the son of a gambling addict father, who taught Daeren how to play casino games before Daeren was old enough to be allowed into a casino. His father liked playing blackjack, but Daeren decided he preferred roulette and played the free online games.

His father was arrested for stealing to support his gambling, and Daeren ran away before CPS could take him in. He joined the army at age 17 and remained in it for eleven years, until he was wounded in the right eye during a combat and had to have the eye removed. The VA attempted to put in a cybernetic ocular implant, but Daeren's body rejected it, and the implant eye had to be removed. He now wears a prosthetic eye and is no longer a soldier.

While in the military, he received the drug Xtra and exhibited telepathic ability, as well as the ability to influence others' thoughts. It is for this reason that the military was willing to provide the cybernetic eye; they wanted to keep him in and use his abilities.

Daeren, however, was tired of being the military's pawn. He exaggerated the severity of his adjustment to having no depth perception and faked vertigo well enough to convince the medics that he was more of an insurance risk than the military really wanted to assume. He received an honorable medical discharge and returned to his home.

He decided to go out to a casino one night and earned a surprising amount--enough to nicely supplement his monthly veteran's stipend. A few more nights of similar results convinced Daeren that he was good enough to make a living at the game. He soon began living solely off his gambling earnings and deposited his veteran's stipend into savings every month. After a while, he started investing part of the stipend and gains dividend income, as well.

He's usually a modest gambler, earning just enough to live comfortably, though he is slowly working his way into the higher-stakes casinos.
