I just found out (though I'm pretty sure this has been there for at least several months) that free members cannot post a picture with their contest. Now I have been here a couple of years, and I used to put pictures on my contests all the time. I always thought that paying members could upload more than one, and that free members just couldn't post pictures with their poems.
Well, a friend of mine tried to have a picture prompt contest using a picture from her computer. I had to upload it onto one of my picture sites so that she could have a link to it, because the picture wouldn't show up. She confronted our nice programmer, Kevin about it, and he told her that only paying members could upload photos in contests.
However, we were not informed, and if we were, I missed the memo. Which is possible, actually. But we were led to believe, by the browse button which had no such disclaimer near it and no such disclaimer after we clicked "submit"
I personally don't see the reason behind this rule, unless the site is that hard up for cash. I always thought being able to upload pictures for your poems and do crazy cool things with your author page were enough incentives to lure people in. If I had the money, I would use those as the reason to become a paying member.
Anyway, I just wanted to pass this along for those who didn't know it. I know I've seen a lot of contests that the holder obviously missed the memo as well.

ha! there's a thing down here that says "add an image to your column (optional)" I wonder if free members are allowed....

which isnt fair. we should have the right to complain about it even if we arent paying for it. i am pretty sure there are more free poets then paying poets. we should have some add on that keeps us posting and doing contests

Exactly. Where's the incentives for poor people??? And there are a lot of paid members.

i had several contests before with pictures. at one point we could. but if you look back at any free contest youve held with pics....there no longer there. they never said anything it just one day happened. its honestly isnt fair. i think we should be able to do it. if only just the one.

see that's what I'm thinking. It was just suddenly changed, and no it isn't fair. We should be able to have that one picture. Paid members get more than one. But if we "strike out" against him, he'll have us banned and delete anything against him.

Oh and my friend says that the disclaimer will be fixed soon. That way, we won't be misled.
