Character Sheet: Gareth Graves

My character for the Avalon College RPG.

Title: The Sword of Dark and Light

Class: Alpha

Appearance: Gareth is 6'1" tall, with a lean, athletic build. He has dark brown hair, almost black, and intense gray eyes. He wears his hair clipped to just above his collar. It's mostly straight with a slight wave. Gareth is clean-shaven.

Personality: Highly intelligent and well educated. He is not a walking encyclopedia or a nerd, but it is evident in the way he speaks that he isn't a good ol' boy. He enjoys being around people who are as well-educated as he, whatever their field. He is the sort of person who is noticed; he has a subtle charisma.

He can be blunt but is candid about some subjects only with people he trusts.

His entry into Alpha Class was a near thing, possible only because he loves the intellectual complexity of his gift more than the power he knows he can gain from its unscrupulous use.

Weapons: His mind, but his gift is not effective in physical combat. Primarily, he is a student of karate and has achieved a brown belt.

Abilities: Gareth holds a bachelor's degre in pharmacology from Bristol University. He is also an able pianist and can sketch. He works nights as a pharmacy tecnnician and is in the States on a student visa.

His gift is telepathic memory manipulation, which he can use to influence people's decisions and actions. It is not a simple thing that can be accomplished in a moment; it takes time, trust between him and his subject, and a delicate, meticulous touch. Gareth is well aware that, in the wrong hands, his gift can be disastrously abused.

Gareth can only use his gift on one person at a time, and he must have initial eye contact to forge a telepathic link. After that, he does not need eye contact.

His two spells would be Mindshield and Confusion. When using Mindshield, not only are his thoughts shielded from all but the most forceful of mental attacks, his pesonality is also 'shrouded.' so that he does not seem as brilliant, as memorable, as he would normally be. Confusion makes a person confsed about where he is or what he is trying to do. It only lasts abot three minutes. Mindshield can last longer, but Gareth must constantly think about maintaining it.
