'Hitting the keys' just a thought or two.

What effect will you have with what you type?

Hitting the keys, do you ever think?
What effect will you have with what you type?
Do you care, or do you just carry on and see what happens?
Do you ever ponder on the outcome of your intentions?

How will your actions come across to the ones who read your words?
Is it something you plan? Or are they fleeting moments of madness?
Are your feelings truly ever portrayed in your sentences?
Or do you play with words and emotions to see different results?

When you know the screen will light up and show your words,
What do you expect from the reader?
When their thoughts have been overwhelmed,
What do look for in returned replies?

Is it Honesty? Or is it Understanding? Or do you expect Belief?
Those are just some reactions you can expect.
But you should never forget is that what you write,
Will always play a major part in the readers’ reaction.

Your intentions to create certain feelings, will only work
If you write completely truthfully and honestly.
When you write to deceive,
You will cause a false reaction.

The reader will only reply with their true feelings,
when your thoughts were completely thought through.
So think about what you write, think long and hard.
If you play with words, you play with feelings.

Don’t ever come across as sincere when you’re not,
Don’t ever imply honesty when you’re blatantly lying.
Be true to yourself first and foremost,
Then and only then, can you be true in your words.

Many souls are here to enhance their poetic and creative writing.
Many are here to envisage the imagery you create in your words.
Some are here for friendships and company.
But above all, those people are looking for truthful and honest words.

If you intend to write to a prompt, write what you feel inside,
If you intend to write from experience, be truthful,
If you intend to create imagery, write what you see in your mind,
If you intend to create romance, write from your heart.

If you want to write funny, make sure you laugh when you write it,
If you want to write sensual, make sure you feel the heat when you write it,
If you want to write sad, make sure you feel your eyes glaze over when you write it,
If you want to write angry, make sure you have something to be angered at when you write it.

If you can’t do any of the above, you’re wasting your time,
You’re taking the essence away from your being here,
You should read your own words inside before you type them,
Anything less is always going to be completely false.

So, from here, where do you go? Do you continue?
Or do you lay down your quill and rethink?
Or are you a real writer, and agree with all the above?
Time will only tell, and the honest ones will truly understand.

Don’t sit in the shadows and craft words of darker thoughts,
Come out in the open, and write what you feel.
Don’t create illusions from your words, needs and desires,
Be upfront and honest, we will know and feel them better.

Yes, times of silence will make us sit back and think,
They will evoke thoughts of realism in our lives and existence.
Because while we are here but only once, our time is precious,
Our thoughts are precious, and above all, our lives are precious.

So don’t play, don’t deceive, don’t be something you’re not,
Just be you, say what you feel and mean every word.
Because if you fail, you’re going to be found out,
And all your time will be wasted, how precious do you feel that is?

I understand what you mean. My problem is not being truthful in my writing. My problem is people taking my words the wrong way. I can't control how someone reads into my words.

    • You got that right, sometimes more is said when less is spoken or written.

This is an absolute brilliant piece. You have asked a lot of questions here that as a writer of poems and stories, I really found thought provoking. I have often read pieces from writers when searching for information, that your words will portray you in some way. I guess that is so right to. With me, I cannot write a piece unless it has touched me to begin with. Whether it is relaity or fantasy, it must have had an impact before i wrote it. I have pieces sitting in a folder unfinished because they do not say anything to me, and therefore would not to others. I am defonately going to bookmark this as i will use this when i am writing my next book. To question myself would be a great advantage. You are very wise in what you say and i thank you for giving me a little insight into what i should be looking for.
