I have lost friends/followers before, I am prepared to lose (and gain) more. People are expendable and can be replaced. You all may or may not know my radical views. That's all fine and dandy. Get to know them sometime. People say Obama is the Anti-Christ, maybe.. idk, I don't follow that religion. I live a very different life than most people. And what happens in politics and other religions is something that I really do NOT care about.
Everyone (not singling anyone out) has consistently asked me about my stance on this, or made comments about my actions in reference to this. They assume that I'm like many other African people who voted for Obama because he was African. And they assume that I should be concerned that he's some mythical bad guy set to bring about the apocalypse. They assume that I also care about America's well-being or that I am mis/un-informed about things that he is doing.
And you know, you are probably right. I am mis/un-informed. But it is my choice.
Why should I care about a country that is dominated by limited minded people who assimilate every culture they come across and try and pass it off to what they consider the lesser of two evils? Take for instance, back home. Many great African achievements are discredited from being anything but those of Nubian descent. People will tell me I'm wrong all day long about the history of the Nubian and Egyptian people. They will insist that they were never "black", they were Arab or some other nationality.
It grows tiresome. I was motivated to write something extensive, but I will be very blunt.
I do not care about America. I see America as a stepping stone to where I'm headed. Look at many of the Asian/Spanish that come here. They come to America to learn and enjoy the "freedoms" (opportunity) here to accomplish things they need. Trust me, I know many of them. They are far from patriotic. They live by the dollar. I can respect that. Money is something that many need and can pave the way to many things.
America needs to mind its own damn business. It's trying to police everything and everyone, dominating trying to keep everything underneath it's foot. Many people are far from patriotic in this country, I am a prime example. I scoff when Elementrary schools have their children recite the pledge of allegiance. This country is based on Christian-related ideals and is set up as a system of control. People say that this is a democracy, but that is something I believe to be a lie.
My views may or may not coincide with yours, that is fine. Do not try and impress your beliefs on me. I am open to everything, I will view and listen to many politcal, religious, etc debates/discussions. The only time that it gets offensive/irritating is when you try and force me to see things your way.
Particularly (And in no way am I attacking my Christian friends btw) Christians is who I've run into. I know Muslims, Atheists, Buddhists and even a Scientologist. I mesh well with Spiritualist followers. The Christian people that I've run into always seem to be on a constant conversion mission. To try and change everyone's beliefs into their own. It's a "You are wrong, I am right. Admit it or burn in hell" declaration all day long from many of these people.
So, if I'm wrong about who I am. And I truly am some delusional man, then oh well.. I guess I burn in hell. That's my choice, leave it be. Stop trying to tell me I'm wrong. That just makes you a douchebag.
But back to Obama.
I'll say it flat out. I don't give a shit about politics. I planned on voting for him because
1) I hate republicans, I've known nothing but trouble from the Republican Presidents that have been in office during my time here.
2) I do not like John McCain's views.
3) (And here is where people get angry) He is African.
Yes, I said it right there in 3). I had already made plans to cast my possibly only vote in my time as an American citizen (even though i feel it has no true effect) because he was an African.
I am very.. "Pro-black" I have seen nothing but oppression of my people that I feel must end. The image that we portray to other people is ridiculous. Every time someone finds out I am African (YES I AM) they are surprised.
"You're black?!"
"I thought you were white"
"You don't act black"
Srsly guyz, (lol)
I hate that sort of statement. Everyone expects my people to be ignorant. It is annoying to say the least. Not every "white" person listens to rock, not every "black" person listens to rap. Not every "white" person is redneck/country. Not every "black" person is ghetto. There are ignorant people of every nationality. Don't be stupid and assume someone is this or that based on their behavior. Expand your mind. Dont' show your own simple mentality.
Everything that is "black" is always discredited in some ways. From our great societies, to our music, to our martial arts. Capoeira was invented by Angolan slaves in Brazil. But everyone swears up and down it is a strictly Brazillian martial art.
Wrong.
Everyone swears up and down that the Egyptians never were black, or excuse me.. "Negroid"
Wrong.
WTF is a Negroid? I assume they are Negroes from Negroland.
I detest the term colored and I detest the term Negro.
I am African. I am not a nigger, nigga, negro, negroid, or colored person. You may call me an African, Nubian or black. Any of that is fine.
So, I'm going to sum this up, as I do not feel like being redundant.
I am not a Christian, but I respect your views. But please don't try and discredit my like for Obama by saying he is some anti-christ. I don't want to hear it.
I am not a political man, so saying "This is your fault, damn Obama worshipper" is annoying too. I voted for him for the above reasons. If he is not doing what he said he was going to do now, well guess what.. he's only catching heat for that because he's black. That's happened with many other presidents (promise one thing, deliver another). But yes, my primary reason is as you assumed, it was because he's black. I do not give a shit if you don't like it.
I am not a patriot. This country can come down off of its high horse thinking its better than everyone else. What happens here, is not my concern. I am (blatantly) using this place to do things that would be impossible elsewhere. Until my ability to do that is threatened, what happens between now and then is not my concern. My views for what I want to do in the future are very.. Extreme. It involves a place that is not the US, so what happens here is irrelevant to me. If anything, it may help.
Love me.
Hate me.
I don't care. I am not here to impress. I am on a mission.
Oh and on an earlier point about voting. Yes, I believe in the theory of the government being ran by a secret organization.
Totally. No explanation why, I just do.
Later thoughts: Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh. I don't um.. Mind America. But it's hard to like a place when the majority of it is what aggravates you. America is more like lost sheep to me. And they simply need the right shepherd.
