Wow. Just wow. I didn't know I would get this deep.
As an elementary schooler, I was bullied on a daily basis. Kids would throw food at me, push me around, and call me horrible names. Why do kids do these things? Why do the schools pay no attention? It is the simple fact that some kids are too scared to tell, because the bullies are way bigger than they are, and could seek revenge. There was a story about a child named Jared, who committed suicide because he was bullied to a point where he couldn't take it anymore. Many other families can tell similar stories about their relatives committing suicide because of bullying. If the child finally gets the guts to tell an adult in the school building, most adults put it off as “kids being kids.” It is absolutely NOT kids just being kids. A majority of the children who bully others have a low self-esteem, and will most likely end up in jail as adults. If we don’t stop this madness now, many other children’s lives will be in jeopardy. Schools need to step up and do something to make bullying decrease in our halls. I am still bullied to this day, and it hurts down to my very core.
