Well, I just realised that I don't have a bio up on here, and because I don't want to clutter up my author's page, I decided to write a column instead!
My name is Maria, I'm 19 years old and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. My dad is Australian - he lives on the Gold Coast - so I've got a bit of an accent, which I get teased about on both sides of the ditch.
I've been writing poetry since I was twelve, and joined the site when I was fifteen. I write mostly from personal experience. I'm a Greeter, so if you have any questions just ask me 
I'm engaged to my Liam, who I met in 2007 - he is my high school sweetheart, and my mender of broken things.
I like to think I'm pretty easy to talk to (but then again, I'm somewhat prejudiced), so if you want to get to know me better, feel free to add me on MSN or Yahoo messenger (I have AIM too, but I don't use it as much).
When I'm not on AllPoetry, I'm either Twittering or, more likely, on LiveJournal.
I write fanfiction (probably more than is healthy lol) on a variety of things - my favourites are Supernatural and Watchmen. All my fic is on my LiveJournal - but be warned, a lot of it isn't work- or parent-friendly!
I want to be a writer eventually, but I'm still working on that. In the meantime, I'm at University, studying English.
Apart from writing, I love music (I play a variety of instruments, including keyboard, cello, alto saxophone, and I also sing), reading, watching movies, and I'm a sucker for extreme sports (bungee jumping, skydiving etc)
I'm not given to physical descriptions; I'm far too biased! If you know where to look, there are photos of me around.
I have one tattoo (so far!), on my left wrist. It's the initials "CRS" - a memorial for my uncle Chris, who died in 2007. We were very close, and I miss him every day.
