1. If you post a contest, intend on commenting on every entry...people want and need the feedback to improve. Besides, it's just polite!
I won't enter a contest if they say they..."may or may not comment"
2. If you don't have anything nice to say...be nice anyway...constructive criticism is one thing...ie. spelling, grammar, or typos. BUT bashing anyone's ideas or beliefs is not helpful to anyone.
3. When someone comments on one of your poems, reply or RTF...both are
best...but you should do at least one.
4. Remember, everyone has their own tastes, and criteria for judging contests, we ALL usually write our best, and think it deserves Gold,
if you don't win...try again!!!
5. Read and try to comment on the other entries in contests you enter,
it helps you see why you do or don't win, and is common courtesy.
These are just guidelines from my own personal experience. Hope this makes for a more enjoyable, hassle free use of the site.

I agree with all these. And I also think that some things in contests themselves should improve. I generally try not to enter contests that have a lot of noticeable spelling and grammar errors, especially if those contests have rules against such abominations.
