time can blur our perception of the past.

I've been going through some of my old stuff and noticed that its much better than any of my new stuff.

quite disheartening really.

Its filled with metaphors while my new stuff is much more direct. Perhaps its because I find it hard to right about more than one subject and using metaphors seems somewhat disrespectable

Does that make any sense?
Because I’ve had trouble doing that lately too.
My thought are just constantly off on tangents
And I seem to be following them.

So I’ve decided maybe its best to get my head back in the clouds before writing more because beautiful things aren’t quite meant for reality.

  • i like all of your writings from what i've read. it speaks the truth on a lot of them. but who cares about metaphors as long as you feel what you write? just because someone says it's a cliche doesn't make it one, it's you and what you feel. that's what poetry is supposed to be, in a personal perspective. at least, that's how i view it.

  • its true.
real beauty is ultimately sad because it will at some point, cease to exist.
beauty that is not followed by longing, sorrow or pain exists outside of reality, as you rightly said.

I look forward to your new writes cat.
