- - Rounds Contest Rules - -

First, I would like to introduce you all to the rounds and I hope you thoroughly enjoy them. I am putting a lot of effort into individualising prompts and take my time in choosing which poems I deem appropriate to move onto the next round. So please stick to the following rules and we should get on swimmingly!

1. Sickness & Delay
If you are ill, or cannot get onto a computer (it happens, we all know this) please tell me in some way or other. If you know you have a holiday to Barbados half way through the rounds and you still want to take part, please prewarn me and I can allow youto skip that particular round OR give you the task earlier than the others, so you can finish it on time before you leave for your holiday.

Equally, if you decide you do not want to be in the competition anymore, let me know don't just not write. I find this highly rude and it kind of gets on my boobies so please make sure you tell me.

2. Name Changes
If you change your username, can you please private message me or leave a comment on the contest page telling me, so I know that you're allowed to enter otherwise I may think you are someone else and delete your entry in the contest and that wouldn't be good, would it?

3. Basic Rules for the contest
o1. Please use appropriate background/font combinations. If I have to highlight your poem, I will not be pleased.

o2. If your poem is sensual/erotic/extremely dark, I want you to label entries correctly. I don't want youngsters reading stuff they shouldn't see and of course, those who wish not to view this kind of material, no matter what age they are.

o3. Use spell check if you aren't very good at spelling. If you make one spelling mistake, I'm not going to shun you, but it really looks better when spelt right and of course I will choose poems with better spelling and grammar over sloppy spelling and grammar, it makes sense really doesn't it?

o4. Prose and lyrics are accepted, unless stated otherwise in the contest.

o5. Stick to the set rules for each individual round.

o6. Put your prompt in your AN - this is essential.

o7. Limit swearing, it's not really needed, there are better words to use to express extreme anger, arousal or discontempt.
o8. Be nice to me and the other contestants. If you disagree with my judging, politely state why. If you get rude or threatening, you will leave the rounds contest and possibly be blocked. I wont have any abuse at all, so don't even push it.

o9. Have fun and try things you don't normally try. It's good for you, you know?

4. Points & Schedules
These are not set in stone, but the main idea here is this ::

Round Total Points Poets that will move on from this stage
 1 500 25 will move on to round 2
 2 600 20 will move on to round 3
 3 700 15 will move on to round 4
 4 1000 8 will move on to round 5
5 1500 This is where winner is decided

5. Other questions?
If you have any questions you'd like to ask, feel free to post them below and I'll answer as best as I can. Thank you all and I hope you do well in this contest series! xxx

    'rhyme or freeverse?
or do you like them both equally?

      Not biased really.

I prefer a beautifully presented prosish and/or freeverse to a forced rhyme
and I prefer a well worded, expressive rhyme to a freeverse without soul.
      Good question!
