Well folks, I have entirely too many irons in the fire. So as of this time, I am going to relinquish some activities. Here at Ap, that will mainly effect my poetry writing.
"In The Fullness Of Time", a collaboration with Silent Cougar has been posted to my page. With it my quill has been sheathed. I will only add new postings as led by Spirit alone.
I will continue to serve in the group's I am in. I am not turning from my responsibilities there at all. I thoroughly support the purposes of those in which I am involved.
So what has brought me to this? Well that would take awhile to explain, but I'll hit the highlights.
1. What is in me to write now, is intensely private and deeply personal. There are some aspects of my life, I care to only share with those on a need to know basis. Thus those poems will not be seen here, rightfully so I believe.
2. In the past month, I have begun to start my own business. In addition to working full time, there are not enough hours in the day it seems. While it is exciting, it is an eye-opening experience. One which challenges me and the business is not even up and running officially yet.
3. There have been numerous health problems and challenges in my immediate family. As the eldest child, I always try to pick up the slack if needed or to be prepared no matter the outcome. Eventually it seems to catch up with you. You find yourself needing a release, time away etc... To be honest though, slowing down is hard for me to do. The mind is always running, and I am having to run marathons as it were to keep up.
While there are other reasons, I believe what is above is the major three items of thought.
I have been here now almost 2 years (March 2007). In that time I have met some wonderful people, became great friends with a few of them outside of Ap and have read lots of great poetry.
For those of my favorites, and those who have selected me as a fave, thanks for your support. I am not through, just growing silent for a period.
For the support through the years I would like to thank the following, my inner circle.
Twilight Panther: "Mom, you were the first to befriend me here and to encourage me with my poetry. As a result, life has taken us far together. You have shown me my place on the wheel of life, you have accepted me wholeheartedly, in short you have demonstrated a mother's love. I am eternally grateful for all that you do.
As my wisdom keeper, my spiritual guide, I honor you. You have invested time, energies and actions in me, at a time I needed it. In short you have contributed to the man I am today. Niaish"
Silent Cougar: " My Brother in Spirit, who would have ever thought it huh? After somewhat of a rocky start, our friendship has grown immensely. The words you have shared have always been dead spot on target. Invaluable insight into an ever growing world of awareness, enabling me to walk more upright as a true warrior.
Though we have only wrote two poems together, you are my favorite person to collaborate with. It seems you and I are somewhat cast from similar molds of thought. Our words do seem to be almost seamless at times. It is an honor to write such compositions with you, for I know above all others understanding and wisdom I will find whenever we meet in these tasks."
Haiku-Bless-You: "Dennis, your hand in friendship and Christian brotherhood here and away from this site has meant the world. Our conversations and fellowship have meant everything. At times you have given valued counsel, keeping the ship of self afloat. I do thank you from the bottom my heart."
Last But certainly never Least,
Wind Spirit: "What can I say, I haven't already said countless times? You are the inspiration, the joy, the better part of all I am. I am not a poet, Sweetheart, I write only as a man in love.
You have given of yourself in ways that would be alien to most beyond us. As a result, I have grown in stature, matured in wisdom and looked inward to continue to find those better parts of myself. Your voice though often quiet speaks the loudest to me.
You know as long as I draw breath, the verses will continue to pour forth. I will continue to write for you and you alone, sharing always what is inside. Regardless what may come, may it increase in being, always be of benefit to us both and to Him who created us to share in this manner.
You have my admiration, affection and eternal fidelity."
