Poet Survivor is a lengthy rounds contest that tests poets' strength in all aspects of poetic endeavor, including use of devices and forms, and display of creativity, impact, and technical ability.
This season began with DOZENS of contestants, out of whom the FINAL 18 were chosen. Those 18 poets submitted themselves to many difficult challenges, many giving out or becoming eliminated along the way. THREE outstanding poets survived to the final round. The judging panel (consisting of Ryno, Cupcrazy, and ten thousand cicadas) are pleased to announce this season's FINALISTS!!!
They are.....
chugglepuff http://allpoetry.com/chugglepuff
Everwind Rising http://allpoetry.com/Everwind%20Rising
Peteskid http://allpoetry.com/Peteskid
Each of these poets display a wide variety of talent, style and skill, and all are deserving to claim the prize.....but that's not the way Poet Survivor works!! The winner of Season Three was required to bring the best poetry to EVERY ROUND. So, two of them will now be eliminated, and by an EXTREMELY THIN MARGIN. In fact, this season was so close that the SECOND and THIRD place winners were originally tied for SECOND, and had to undergo an additional round to find some point of differentiation! We encourage you to visit the pages of each of these fine poets... You will NOT be disappointed!
And now for the moment that so many have been LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG been waiting for.... THE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
Below you will find the point announcements for POETS SURVIVOR FINALE ROUND C, which previously remained unposted to maintain the winner's secrecy until the tie for second was broken. In addition, the scores for ROUND A and ROUND B are also added into the final tally... giving us the winner!
In third place earning the honor of THIRD PLACE, and receiving a reward of 1000 pts....
and 3 poems FEATURED (poet's choice) is...

Thanks to judges for all your hard work. Thanks to my fellow contestants for the inspiring competition and poetry. To Chugglepuff and Peteskid thanks for the late nights wringing my hands and the ulcers from worrying what I would be up against in these final rounds--just kidding. You two have shown yourselves to be top notch competitors and absolutely top tier poets!
Byrony, you have the gift of being able to write from a perspective that belies your age. I wish that I was writing like you do when I was your age. I have been astounded at your talent time and again. Your use of imagery, metaphor, and emotion is gripping, unique, and always perfect.
Peteskid, your pen is a fount of beauty and wisdom and your competitive spirit is matched only by your ability to write cascades of imagery that wash over and immerse us in your poetry. You have that rare ability to entwine spiritual themes with earthly--seeing more than most and recording it in expertly written verse. -
Wow, what an ending! Big congratulations to Peteskid and Everwind Rising, of course, and thanks so much to all the judges for keeping this going, it's been a wonderful thing to do!
