The dagger was driven through the heart. There was nothing I could do... The killer ran as I slumped beside the body, reminiscing everything that had happend since I met him. The day was cold. The wind whipped through my hair and I shivered as the chill swam down my neck. I walked into the ruins. This, is where it starts.
"Stupid parents," I muttered moving over to perch on the side of a wall.'Finally' I sighed "Peace." The world around me swirled, the sounds and voices fading from my ears as I felt myself fall into a dream less sleep. I fell, slowly sliding my back down the wall landing on the lucious green grass.
"Uh..excues me?" A voice spoke. Turning over I waved the idiot desturbing my sleep away,
"Five more minuets mum," I spoke softly. The mysterious person began to shake me softly. I ignored him, faking more sleep. He looked at me in a curious way. His head appeared next to mine and whisperd;
"I really think you should wake up," I opened my eyes slowly to find a pair of perfect green eyes melting into mine.
I jumped to my feet startled and looked at the boy who stood before me. My heart skipped a beat as I took in his features.
He had mid-length deep red hair, with a pure white headband underneath his fringe. Those eyes, it felt asthough you could dive and a pure emerald hiding behind them. He wore a long pale brown coat with a black shirt underneath, finished off with; a cream scarf, black trousers and black trainers.
He smiled. He smiled at me a smile so sweet. He then said softly;
"Good morning sleepy head," I Blush a thousand of shades of red as I rember calling him mum. 'Wow,' I thought almost melting at the sight.
"You must be freezing, here," he took off his coat and gave it to me wrapping it around my cold shivering body.
"No no, I'm fine," I whined, but as soon as the smell of the coat reached my nose, I knew I couldn't resist him much longer. Gladly he ignored my refusal and tied the coat around me. I smiled back meekly and in barely a whisper spoke a small;
"Thankyou." He nodded and smiled again. Then I realised something, he hadn't even told me his NAME!
"I guess i should introduce myself," I began. "My names Christine, but Chris or Chrissy for short." The mysterious man was watching me with curious eyes and snapped out of his trance as soon as I said Christine.
"What a beautiful name Christine, I'm Alex." I could feel another Blush spread across my cheeks as he took my hand and lifted it against his smooth, soft, juicy red lips.
"So, young miss, I think I should perhaps take you home, it's beginning to snow," I watched closely as pure white flakes fell slowly from the sky. They glinted in the twilight sunset and it was obvious mum would be worrying about me. I looked at him and protested;
"No, no it's okay I can go alone," I started to slide his coat off but he stopped me and whispered in his soft Voice,
"I assure you it's no problem at all," he slides his coat back around me and locked my hand in his, I blushed again and looked down.
We were about halfway home and I was absent-mindedly watching the falling snowflakes when I realised him looking and watching as I was walking.
"You know," he started "I've been wondering about why you were asleep in such a peculiar place?" I widened my eyes, he noticed.
"Its my thinking spot," I blushed "I guess I was so tierd, I fell asleep." Unlocking his hand from mine only to be replaced by a strip of card.
"My number," he said with a smile. "In case you need me," I looked at the card and smiled,
"Wait! Alex, You..." My voice drifted into the sound of the street as I looked back up to find he was already gone. I took in the scent of the forgotten coat as I turned around and marched inside.
I woke up the next morning feeling like yesterday was all just a dream. So I flashed open my eyes and threw myself out of bed, jumping down the stairs, basicly falling down them, to see his coat hanging where mine should be. I leaned against the tall banister breathing heavily on the bottom step and sighed a sigh of relief. I walked over to it and ran my hand across the soft fabric.
"Chrissy!" My attention was torn from me as I was summoned into the kitchen. "What was that aweful banging?" Mum asked me as I took a seat at the table.
"Oh, I fell down the stairs..." I couldn't help giggling.
"You daft girl, you okay?" Mum said racing over to check me.
"I'm fine, I'm fine!"
"You Sure darling?"
"Stop fussing," I whined. "Get on with breakfast," She shook her head chuckling at me. I rolled my eyes, grabbed a piece of toast and went back upstairs. I sat by the cold window sill munching my newly attained piece of toast. The cold glass was ice against the soft skin of my cheek. I waved it away only to notice the clocks reflection in the window. It was getting into late morning, I thought it would probably be best if I got dressed. Still looking out the window I thought about the weather, and based what I was going to wear on that. It was a bright morning, warm but a pure white blanket still lay on the ground from the night before. Suddendly, flashes of the mysterious man bounced around inside my head as I was beginning to get dressed. I slid open my wardrobe door and pulled out a baby blue strabless dress with purple lining. Around the hanger hung white gloves, almost as white as the snow lying on my front lawn. They also had purple trimming. I pulled them both on and sat at my vanity table, beside the window. Brushing my long violet hair, I watched myself in the mirror. I got up and stood infront of my long mirror that hung on the door of my wardrobe. Just to check. My reflection stared back at me, watching me, copying every movement. It showed my long thin legs underneath the knee-length dress, it showed my narrow hips and my thin stomach, perhaps to thin, hidden under the soft cotton of the dress. Next was my shoulders just out of line with my hips, being narrower. My long purple hair draped over my shoulders and my glowing white wings with the white hairband in it. My amathyst eyes glowed against the soft skin of my face. Taking one last look in the mirror I grabbed the strip of card and ran downstairs.
"Mum, I'm going out! I'll see you later!" I screamed through the house before grabbing my coat and Alex's. I was ready.
I followed the trail that Alex and I had freshly made last night and ended back at the ruins. I paced around the inside,
"How am I going to give him his coat back?" I mutterd stopping and flipping the piece of card over in my hands. I stared at the black writing on it. It said 'Call me: 07919823780 A x'. The thought waved through my mind when suddenly a man appeared infront of me.
"I believe thats mine," a velvet voice spoke and so many thoughts ran through my mind, my heart beating at 100mph against my ribcage. If it kept up, it was going to break. I looked up and my eyes met his. He smiled. 'Yeah, my ribcage has broken,' I thought. Suddenly, what he said hit me.
"Ohh, yeah!" I said handing him the soft brown coat. I felt like I didn't want to give it back, because if I gave it back, then there was the slightest chance that I couldn't see him again. Alex took the coat out of my hands, accidentally touching them with his and I felt a dark blush spread across my cheeks. However, he didn't remove them, he squeezed them tighter. He smiled at me, and I couldn't help but smile back.
"Thank you for returning it," He said in his velvet voice "I hope it was no toruble looking after it for one night?" He added. I looked in his eyes, barely able to string two words together. Slowly, he pulled his hands away, along with the coat. I watched Alex sling it over his shoulders. He lent in, and kissed me on the cheek, his truely soft lips against my skin. I glowed inside, I just wanted to pull his lips against mine.
"I have to be going now," he whispered in my ear. "Goodbye my love." Then with that, he turned on his heels and started walking away. I stood and watched, his long lost coat returned to him flowing behind him in the cold wind. With my hand on my cheek blushing, I wished silently for him to turn round just one last time.
A few days had passed since Alex and I had last met and it was now the start of the new school term. The morning was bright as I awoke with my mother screaming in my ear and shaking me,
"Christine! You're going to be late! AGAIN!" I opened my eyes and stared at the person leaning over me. It took a while for my half asleep brain to catch up with the sight I saw. 'Shoot' I thought, 'School'. I jumped out of bed almost smacking my mum in the face and rushed into the bathroom. As I stood over the bathroom sink, staring into the mirror I saw my usual messed up birds nest that I had for hair and deep dark strips of flesh under my eyes. 'An angel?' I thought 'I look more like a devil thismorning!' I whined and pulled a face in the mirror.
It wasn't long before I sprang out of the bathroom, dressed, makeup on and back to my usual self. I rushed down the stairs, grabbing a piece of toast from the table and taking my coat and bag as I sped out the door. I looked at my watched as I stormed out the house and decided I was too late to walk, I took to the sky for the first time in ages 'I should do this more often' I pondered to my self as I flew high above the busy city. I reached the school sooner than I thought and whent into land. My daydreaming caught hold of me, Alex appearing in my mind. My concentration was broken and suddenly a wall appeared infront of me. I crashed into it. My feathery wings and soft bottom cusioning my fall. 'Thats why I don't do it more often' I Sighed and led back on the floor closing me eyes. I tried to control my emotions, afraid that I would lash out at the closest person I could.
Surprisingly, I herd my books shuffleing across the ground, 'Thats funny,' I thought, 'I haven't even thought of a spell yet,' I opened my eyes to see a tall boy looming over me.
"Are you okay?" he smiled. I nodded, a look of confusion spreading across my face. He saw that and gave a slight chuckle.
"The names Duggie," he said offering me a hand. I took it and he tugged me up sharp but, smooth. I ended up about an inch from his face. What I could see, made my heart spin. His long black frindge hung lazilY over his right eye. It looked so soft, and smooth, and shiney. I needed to touch it, I needed to make sure it was exactly how it looked. However, I with held the temptation. He threw it out the way. It gleamed as it swung across his tanned skin. My heart stopped spinning, and sank to the the tip of my toes as I stared into his glowing coal eyes. I could see mine, reflected in his, I could see what he saw, the lust, camouflaged within my amethyst windows.I opend my mouth to say thank you but words failed me and I ended up looking like a goldfish. Blushing slightly he chuckled again and handed me my books.
"Perhaps I aught to take you to class, just incase you would like to walk into any more walls,' I noded slowly not even attempting words for fear of looking like a fish again. He smiled and took my hand in his. My heart began thumping, still in the tip of my toes. We started to walk towards my calssroom.
"So, fly into walls often?" He started the conversation. Although, the classroom door came into view sooner than I hoped. I couldn't leave him, he might never come back! However, he pushed me in and nothing more was said but a quick 'goodbye' screamed down the corridor.
I sat in class, all in a world of my own, day dreaming as always. This time, it was different. I couldn't help but think of Alex and this new boy Duggie. Much to my dismay I found my self comparing them! What had come over me? I thought about the way they talked, the way they walked, their voices! Most of all... Those sparkling jewels for eyes, fixed amongst their pure faces. My trail of thought was broken by the bell chiming in my ears. The end of class. I packed my books, curious as to what Alex and Duggie were doing. I was last out of class, due to the fact I liked day dreaming. I screamed across the buldging crowd trying to push my way through. I looked at my watch and widened my eyes. 'Great' I thought, 'Late again.' I started to rush, knowing that something was bound to go terribly wrong. Then, It did. I was in such a rush I wasn't looking where I was going and ended up running straight in to the back of someone. As my head met their soft clothes my bag dropped past their wagging tail and fell to the floor, displaying my books for the whole corridor.
"Damn it!" I complained a little louder than needed. I bent down to pick it up and a hand met mine. I looked up in shock to see the coal like eyes from this morning staring back at me.
"Duggie" I Whispered. He just chuckled at me, the same way as he did thismorning. A rosey red colour fled across my cheeks. He stole the bag out of my hands and smiled at me.
"Do you like dropping your bag then?" I couldn't help but giggle.
"Well, I wouldn't meet you any other way would I?" I spoke, quieter than usual.
Thoughts were running round inside my mind. 'What had I just said? Does he think I'm a Cluts now?' I Sighed and Looked up at him, slowly being pushed in the opposite direction that I needed to go. Duggie's hand slid into mine and pulled me a bit quicker in the wrong direction. As I looked to the back of us I began to protest,
"Hey! My class is that way," I said pointing behind.
"I know," he smiles "But I'm your class today."
I looked at him puzzled but found myself cought up in the excitment and letting him lead me further and further away.
Sooner or later we came across the school field. The sun was shining and most of the snow had gone. I shiverd, so I pulled my coat out of my bag and tugged it on. I didn't realise it, but Duggie had dissapeared from my side. I looked around. He wasn't in sight, suddenly I felt a huge lump of ice thrown at my back, right inbetween my wings. I screamed and span around. I herd giggleing from behind a tree and my eyes norrowed. I could see a fluffy jet black tail stuck out from behind it and I put on an evil smirk and bent down. I scooped up the melting substance and formed it into a ball. Makeing sure I was quiet I crept over to the tree. I could still see the wagging tail and was careful not to disturb it. I came to the broken bark of the tree and jumped out smushing the ball of ice into the face of my unsuspecting victim. He fell back into the snow and I couldn't help bursting into laughter.
"Oh ha, ha, very funny," he looked at me smiling. Still laughing I sat under the tree watching him. That was a BIG mistake, I got sucked into his coal eyes and lost my trail of thought. My eyes followed him as he moved and sat next to me.
"Whats my lesson then? Mr Duggie," I giggled
"Well Miss..?" He started to reply, but then I remembered I had never introduced myself.
"Chrissy," I smiled, blushing at my forgetfulness.
"Miss Chrissy," his voice sounded, prefect, like all the times before. "I thought you could do with some flight lessons," he winked at me, "But, I've changed my mind," he said leaning back against the tree, "I want to know more about you," Duggie laughed and looked right at me. I blushed, trying to conceal it but, I failed miserably.
"Well, I'll tell you, only if you tell me back." I spoke, the blush burning my cheeks. He raised an eyebrow at me and smiled.
"Sneaky arn't we,"
"Not all angels are Innocent," I spoke, half giggleing.
"So you are an angel?" He smiled, curiously.
"Did the wings give it away?" I spoke sarcasticly, rolling my eyes.
"You could of been an over-grown fairy?" He shrugged at me.
"And your an over-grown mut," I snapped back, a little more sour than intended.
"Hey, hey, no need to get nasty now," he joked. I couldn't help but giggle. I felt his eyes on me. My laugh died and I couldn't help but stare back at him. I felt like leaning in closer, he seemed to be thinking the same thing, as he begin to lean in close . I followed his lead. Suddenly a firey blaze appeared infront of me and I couldn't help but stare at it's beauty. It burned away to reveal a person. His back was to me, but I imediately knew who it was. The long denim jacket and pale white shirt hanging out from underneath it made him look slim, yet muscular. His bottom half was coverd in black trousers and a pair of trainers.
"JAMES!" I screamed, not realising what he was doing. I widened my eyes and focused on him. He seemed to be advanceing towards Duggie. Duggie was growling and a low hiss was pushed out of James's lips. I tryed to push my self around James to see Duggie,
"C'mon James! Stop messing about," I shouted. He turned to face me, his amber eyes glaring into my amethyst ones. I new what was happening.
James started approaching Duggie. Duggie didn't back down, but rose up and stood his ground. The hissing and growling continued. I had had enough and sprang up and inbetween them. I looked up into those deep amber eyes. Fear swam through me. 'What is he doing here? Did he see us? Why would he act this way?' I thought, 'Some Demon!'. Suddenly his expression changed and a look of surprise was written across it. He stopped hissing and Duggie stopped growling.
"I think it's best if I left for now," Said Duggie. I looked at him with pleeding eyes.
"Untill next time Chrissy," he smiled.
I mouthed a 'sorry' to him as he turned and fled in the direction of the school. I turn to look and James and let all hell brake lose,
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING BUTTING IN LIKE THAT!" I screamed at him.
"Hey, CC! I'm sorry!" He shrank back,
"Don't use that name on me!" I said, slightly quieter, still with a sharp tongue.
"Just proved you are, Crazy Crissy," he laughed, with that laugh I had grown to love over the years. I couldn't keep a straight face and chuckled along with him.
"This isn't over Mr!" I smiled at him and he brought me into a tight hug. As I hugged him tightly, the aroma of his jacket creeped up my nose, and felt like I never wanted to leave his arms. I could feel his hand gently rubbing my back in a loving and apolagetic way. I smiled into his shirt and he pulled away smiling. His amber eyes stared down, watching me, I stared back watching every line of the soft skin of his face.
"Lets go back to school," He whispered. I nodded. "Skiver," He laughed. I hit him playfully.
"HEY!" He laughed at me and I ran off challenging him to a race, he accepted and ran off after me.
My ceiling appeared before me as I opened my eyes. I streched and sat up slowly. I looked around at my room as the stream of sunlight lit it up. My eyes adjusted the the new light and looked at the clock. It said 12:07. I sighed and led back down. 'Thank god it's a saturday,' I thought, 'Or my mum would be killing me right this moment.' I giggled at the thought and put my hands behind my head. I stared at the shady wall above me as pictures streamed through my mind. Duggie and James growling an hissing. If it came down to a fight, who would win?I closed my eyes tightly wincing at the thought of one of them laying there, in pain. A pain shot through my heart. I sat up forcing myself not think about it. Before I knew it I was dressed and downstairs at the breakfast table nibbleing on some toast.
I lent back in my chair watching the window, wondering what I was going to do today. A shadow moved past it. I shrugged, 'Probably a bird,' I thought then suddenly a hudge bang sounded from the door. It rang through the house and I was snapped out of my trance, scaring me half to death. I sighed and walked over to the door. Behind the white frame stood a boy that I was just thinking about. His eyes watched me and mine watched him back and then the silence was broken.
"I didn't think you would be up this early little miss CC," he smiled, I smiled back,
"Hey, I'm not that lazy Mr!" We both burst out laughing.
"What can I do for you then?" I asked curiously.
"Well, I figured you would be bored to day,"
"Yeah, cause I'm not able to think of anything to do!" I cynically as he shook his head smiling.
"So you found somthing to do then?"
"Well, not exactly.." I said looking down,
"Exactly what I thought," he chuckled.I stuck my tongue out at him. "Fancy a trip out then?" he inquired. I looked up at him curiously,
"What did you have in mind?"
"Fancy a trip to the cinema?" He smiled, cautiously.
"Aslong as it's not 'Stop! Or my mum will shoot!' AGAIN!" I whined, grabbing my coat and bag before shutting the door behind me.
"What? it's a GOOD movie!" He screamed as we started walking down the street. I rolled my eyes,
"James it's one of the WORST films EVER!" I moaned at him, sliding on my coat
"Fine, fine, but no mushy stuff! Bleeh, makes me throw up," he showed me a gagging gesture and I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Nudity's okay though, I dom't mind that," he joked and I widened my eyes and puched him softly on the arm.
"HEY I was kidding!" He laughed,
"Jerk," I mutterd and stormed on faster, smiling to myself. James stopped in the middle of the pathway,
"Awww, Chrissy, don't get mad," he begged. I turned round and poked my tongue out at him. He just snickered at me and new that I was just joking around. He ran to catch up with me and we continued our convorsation.
We wondered around the busy city talking madly about the most random of things, I think at one point we were talking about platypus', if people had herd our convorsation, the would of definately thought we were barking mad. However, it wasn't long before our convorsation ended and we reached the cinema.
"No mushy stuff," he repeated,
"No nudity," I copied him,
"What abou-," I cut him off,
"I told you already, we are not seeing that film again
"Spoil sport," he muttered.
"How abo-," he cut me off this time,
"Too much drama," he whined, I sighed.
"Then wha-," I cut him off again.
"You have a bad taste in films,"
"I could say that same for you," I looked up at him, he looked back down at me. His amber eyes glowed.
"How about we give up on the movies?" He questioned,
"I think thats a good idea, or we'll be stuck here forever trying to decide," I smiled "Where do you want to go then, Mr Jam?"
"Well Miss CC, how about the park?" He wondered lookin up at the sky, eyeing it carefully. I followed his gaze and stared at the pure puffy white clouds hiding the sky.
"The weather should be okay," I agreed as I pulled my head to it's normal position and began the walk to the park. James followed me walking closer to me than before.
The park drew closer with every step I took as I trotted along the pavement, James beside me. We soon reached the gates and beyond them was hudge green field. It had tall green tree's all around the edge and some dotted around randomly within that circle. There were many different types, like oak and acorn and many that I didn't reconise. Not that I actually wanted to reconise them... Anyway, The path we were walking along went through the park dotting around in different directions. Along the path were a few benches and bins, though some litter still lay scattered across the grass. There wern't many people here, but mabe that was just the weather having an effect on their decision. Not ours though.
"You want to walk around, or sit down?" Sounded a voice to my left. I looked up at him with a thoughtful face.
"My legs ache," I groaned,
"Mine too," he moaned, "I guess it's sitting then," he smiled at me, taking my hand and pulling me over to the nearest bench, which just happened to be empty. I sat down on the ice cold wood and imediately sat back up again. James stared at me curiously.
"Whats the matter?" He asked worryingly.
"It's cold..." I spoke quietly in a baby-ish voice. James only smiled at me, probably experienceing this moment for the 100th time.
"Fine little miss whiner, sit on my lap,"
"Blah, I'm to heavy,"
"Oh don't be rediculous," He rolled his eyes, pulling me on his lap. I landed softly, my coat against his jeans and my back against his chest. His arms snaked around my stomach holding me against him. The smell crept up my nose again and I rested my hands against his. His skin felt smooth underneath my fingertips. Just as soft as silk. Anyone who walked past would of mistaken us for a couple. I turned round to face him. Amethists smashed against amber. I took in every detail of his face, his vibrant pale skin that looked colder than ice, his soft, rosy chubby cheeks higher with is adorable smile. My eyes came across his lips and they were a lustful red, drawing me towards him. Inching closer and closer towards him, wantinf him. He didn't refuse, I guess he wanted it too. Wait, what about our friendship? Would it ruin it? I pulled away and got off of his lap. I couldn't bare to look at him, Had I ruined it already?
"Chrissy?" A shaking voice behind me called. I turned round just as a hand touched my arm, softly. It was the skin that I had been so close to, just moments before, seconds before...
"I'm fine, I'm fine," I pulled a fake smile. "Just to cold to sit down," I lied. He smiled back, I guess it looked normal, but it had no life, it must of been a fake too.
"Don't worry me like that," he laughed slightly. His hand slid down my arm and clasped mine as he stood up and started to walk.
"W-what? Where are we going?" I followed uncontrolably,
"Well, if sitting is too cold, we'll walk," he smiled at me, this time it was definately real. I couln't help but let my real smile shine through as we walked on. Chatting and laughing.
The time flew as we wondered around the park in circles absent-mindedly. It had slowly gotten darker, so I was naturaly curious what the time was. When I checked my watch, panic sturck through me.
"Shoot, I gotta get home," I looked up at James who was pulling a frown. He tightened his grip around my hand.
"It's okay, I'll feed you." He nodded, "Stay, please?" I giggled as he pulled his usual puppy dog begging eyes at me.
"I really have to go, my parents will be wondering where I am," I pulled a sad face at him.
"Fine, but I'm only letting go if you come to my party," he said, proudly looking at our hands.
"A party? Oh.. You know i'm not really a party sort of girl..." I shrugged, anxiously.
"I'll pick you up at 8 then," he smiled walking off waving. I rolled my eyes.
"Great, and I was hoping to stay in tonight," I sighed and started my journey home. "Damn you James."
It was about half past 7 and my freshly soaked hair hung on my shoulders. I looked at the reflection in the mirror. Fear was rising from my finger tips, I wasn't going to be ready on time! My hands started to shake, 'No I can't,' I thought, 'It's breaking rule number one! No magic out of class except in an emergency,' I shrugged 'Maybe.. Just maybe.. If i was careful enough.. This could work,' I closed my eyes concentrated and felt a shock wizz through my body. When I opened my eyes, the last whisps of magic vanished and I was left with my reflection. It showed a short jet black dress hanging over my body. The bodice gripped me tightly as a strap wound around my neck and joined to it. The skirt dropped and fell just before my knees. My hair was up, wrapped round in a tight bun with a few curls here and there, with my purple frindge layed across my right eye. Tucked underneath the invisible hairband was a pure white flower. I watched it glisten in the moonlight from the window. 'Not too bad,' I smiled 'Now, only not to get caught.. Stupid teachers,' I cussed as I ran into my room. I grabbed the snow coloured scarf and wrapped it around my shoulders. It hung loosely as it twirled around my arms. I stepped towards the wardrobe as my mirrored self appeared before me.
I tampered with my make-up and checked the flower in my hair. Just as I put on my shoes, the doorbell streamed through the house. I froze at the sound of the door opening.
"Chrissy, it's for you!" Called my mother up the stairs. I checked myself one last time before my feet took me calmly out of the room and down the stairs. James was in the doorway. He looked up at me as I took each step slowly and carfully, knowing how accident-prone I was.
I took my eyes away from my feet to take a closer look at James. His blue hair hung over his golden eyes that were full of lust. A navy blue shirt hung over his body covering his belt and part of his black trousers. My mum stood beside him, watching me with glee flowing through her and leaking out of the hudgest smile I had ever seen. However, looking that way.. Was a big mistake. My foot landed akwardly on the last step and I lost my balence. I fell, for what seemed like decades towards the floor. Although, the floor never came. I opened my tightly squeezed eyes to see a pair of glowing saffron eyes beaming into mine, still full of lust, perhaps more than before. James had his arms around me, holding me tightly, close.
"Thanks," my voice became a whisper.
"Your welcome," he smiled. "You look amazing," he breathed, milimeters from my ear.
"Hurry up, or you'll be late!" My mother screached, another witness to my accident. James pulled me up to full height and then dragged me out of the door.
My heels screached through the silent street of the dark night as I walked quietly next to James. His eyes were on me, burning into me like the flames he held inside. I want to look up, to meet those soft eyes that only held love for me. I wouldn't dare, no, I couldn't mess this up!
"Whats up CC?" The cozy voice remarked, snapping me out of my daydream. I looked up at him and only met what I had expected.
"Huh? Oh, nothing, nothing," I smiled at him, as fake as plastic. I looked back down at the floor, the smile vanishing from my face. James stopped dead in his tracks, as if I had slapped him. I was a few steps head of him when I realised. He only glared at me when I looked up at him, turning my body to face him.
"What? Whats the matter James?" I shreiked at him, terror running through my vains. He caught up with me and placed a hand on my cheek.
"Don't you think I've known you long enough to tell when your lieing?" He smiled and my feeble attempt. Just as I opened my mouth to speak he door opened and a voice called through it,
"James, you idiot are you comming in or not!?" I Sighed, glad that we were interrupted. A look of frustration flashed across James's face and he removed his hand from my cheek,
"Yeah, yeah, we're comming," he screamed back sliding his hand into mine smiling.
"Time for the fun to start." The unknown person dissapeared at the sound of the door shutting and James began leading me towards the house. 'Time for my funeral,' I thought, rolling my eyes. The door slammed behind me as I stood in the doorway. The door slammed behind me as I stood in the doorway. I scanned the room as James stole my scarf and hung it on the hooks beside him. Thank god no-one was in jeans and a t-shirt.
"Would you like a drink?" He smiled. I nodded, it was to unbareable to talk. He nodded back and dissapeared into the kitchen. I decided it was stupid staying in the doorway, so I gravitated more towards the center of the room. However, it wasn't long before I was approached. A shadow hung over mine as I turned round to see a tall pale skinned man watching me. His eyes, digging into mine.
"So, your the one Jam was with?" He smiled at me. I nodded in agreement. 'This must be the guy that was at the door,' I thought, eyeing him. His black unruly hair hung low over his turqoise eyes. They held mystery, what was he? His pale skin glowed in the dim light.
"Don't you ever talk?" He joked, laughing slightly. My head hung as I blushed crimson.
"Obviously not," he agreed with himself. My blush brightened when I whispered,
"The names Chrissy." He stared at me with mock shock.
"Well then, nice to meet you silent Chrissy," I looked up at him and smiled, he smiled back. My eyes waverd over his face and then dropped to see what he was wearing. A black shirt led across his muscular chest. It had short sleeves showing off his arms that were tucked into his jeans. 'So I was wrong about the no jeans thing... Now I feel really over dressed,' worry ran through my mind. I shrugssed, 'Nothing I can do about it now is there?' A hand waved infront of my face...
"Silent Chrissy? You in there?" Was the voice that brought me back to reality. I looked up at him, a bit dazed.
"Yeah," I muttered "Sorry..." I trailed off, remembering there had been no proper introduction.
"Nick," he finished. A little laugh escaped my lips, but the newly named 'Nick' didn't seem to mind. I could see him smiling out of the corner of my eye. Silence ovewhelemed the situation. I couldn't help but feel awkward. The stillness was upset as I felt a hand on my back.
"JESUS JAMES! You almost gave me a heart attack!" I span round and glared at him. He only shrugged.
"Your drink?" He smiled innocently.
"Oh, right, thanks," I smiled nervously back. There wasa peculiar sound from behind me and I turned to see Nick standing there pissing himself chuckleing at me. I blushed a blood red although, this did the trick as he calmed down, comming to his senses.
"Not so silent now are we Chrissy?" He said, striaght faced, but there was still some essence of laughter in his soothing voice.
"So you two have met? Great!" James screamed with glee.
"Yeah, I was just about to tell her how beautiful she was," and the blush returned. James's expression changed. It was all of a sudden sinister.
"James ar yo-," I began,
"Nicholas, can I see you for a minute," James nodded towards a space on the other side of the room. My eyes widened. 'What the hell...?'
They were only gone for a few minutes, but those seconds ticked by like years. James weaved thoughout the people on the floor, a smile returned to his face. Nick followed, more distant from James. As my eyes rolled over him, he seemed more blue, his eyes; more faint. The mystery; gone. His head sank and looked at the floor. A worried look struck across my face. James had seen it.
"Don't worry CC, it was only a manly chat," he smirked at me. James nudged Nick and he looked up smiling at me a fake smile. I sighed and looked at my cup, watching it as if it was magically going to get rid of this akwardness. Nick seemed as glum as I did, thoughts of fear were running though my mind. 'What did James say to him?'
The night dragged on and James had pulled me up to dance a few times, much to my disgust. However, when we finished the first time, Nick was nowhere to be seen. I was curious as to where he had gone... 'Probably the toilet,' I shrugged, from then on, I thought nothing about it. Another late guest arriving gave me the oppertunity to escape outside for a cool breeze of fresh air. As I sat on the side of James's patio steps, the wind rushed through the dangling bits of hair that layed on my face, making me shiver. I didn't care, atleast not as much as I had earlier.
"Stupid girl, I should of brought my scarf out," I muttered to myself, cursing under my breath. My shoulders felt heavy, making me arch my back, I looked to the side to see a black leather jacked wound around my shoulders. I felt the warmpth instantly as I looked up to the figure stood above me. Its eyes glowed and amathyst met turquise.
My eyes widened and I stared at him in shock. He smiled at me,
"Goldfish girl are we?" He chuckled. 'Great, I looked like a fish... Again!' A cherry blush swam across my cheeks.
"Sorry," I muttered, "I just thought that you had left, or perhaps that you had dissapeared within all the people," a small movement and Nick was sat beside me staring up at the sky.
"Why would I leave?" He spoke, his words echoing through the night sky, which his eyes never left. I followed his gaze and looked up at the tiny lights in the sky, burning through the midnight darkness. As if they were fire.
"Something James might have said," I shrugged. My eyes never left the darkness as I ran my hand across the jacket that felt so smooth. However, I could feel Nick's eyes on me, digging into my skin. The silence surrounded us as I waited impatiently for an answer.
"Don't worry. As James said, It was nothing." However, that was not what I had expected, but I gave up on even arguing. 'I'll beat it out of James tomorrow, if he hasn't got to much of a hangover.' My face fell, looking at the ground. I ignored the feeling of Nick's piercing glare and let my face show a dismal expression.
"Although, what I would really like to know..." He had cought my attention and -still with my head hanging low- turned my head to look at him.
"Is what a beautiful like woman, such as yourself, is looking so annoyed about?" He questioned, his eyes digging deeper. I could almost feel the blood spewing down the side of my face. Still, my head returned to staring at the ground as I smiled.
"I'm not a party person,"
"And why's that?" He grinned, a cheeky one.
However his question caught me off guard and I was forved to say the first thing that appeared in my mind.
"All the people I guess," I pondered.
"Whats wrong with them?" He asked, questioningly.
"Theres just to many," I looked back at him smiling.
"So if I asked you to dance, you would hate dancing in there?" He raised an eyebrow. The blush grew deeper,
"Well for one," I replied "I really can't dance," Nick tried to hide it, but I knew he was snickering at me.
"Awww, I'm sure your not that bad," he said, looking amused. I rolled my eyes, figuring out what to say. Faint sounds of a slow song were streaming into my ears, filling the awkward silence. However, before I knew it I was up on my feet. Two hands had slid onto either side of my hip, rubbing against the smooth fabric of the dress. Magicly my hands landed on his shoulders and I was left gazing into the sea he held within his eyes.
"HEY! Whats going on?" My face screamed a look of horror. Nick smiled.
"Dancing," my eyes widened.
"But I told you I can't dance!" I whined,
"So your telling me..." He joked "You can't even sway side to side?"
"Thats exactly what I'm telling you," I nearly screamed at him. His smile continued, and it seemed as if it got brighter. I searched every inch of it to find an ounce of pain. Although, to my dismay, I didn't find any. Nick started to waver from side to side and I found myself automatically following. We were gliding around James's backgarden along the sodden grass. My impulse was burning as my arms wound around his neck pulling me that little bit closer.
The stars shone down on us. Nick rolled me out and I span comming back in, a little to hard against him.
"If I stand on your foot, it's only because I told you so," I spoke barely above a whisper. I looked up at him while we were dancing. His face radiated so much happiness. Although we were getting slower and slower until we finally stood still, his hand on my waist and my hands around his neck. His eyes were glowing, just as they were when we met. The clouds in the sky vanished and the full moon beamed down on us. I could see the reflection within the eyes of the person I was inching closer to. The shadows led before us. The two hands slid onto my back pulling me towards the person who I could tell wanted this so much. So many thoughts were running through my mind, 'Why do I want this? Why did he want this? Where is this going to go? What will James think!?' My heartbeat gor faster and faster, each one screaming 'Do it, Do it, DO IT' in my mind. I could feel it in my throat, but my thoughts were cut short with a pair of soft, lucious lips touching mine.
