Halloween

It was on the news that in Belleville Illinois, starting next year, there are laws restricting the age of trick or treaters. If you are over 14, then you can be fined for trick or treating.

So is Halloween supposed to be just for kids?

No.
I think people are being absolutely incredibly riddiculous.

No.

It's a Pagan Holiday. It was originally started by the Celts over 2,000 years ago to mark the end of the harvest. Is signified death and darkness, and to pay tribute, many people started bonfires and burned crops and animals. They wore costumes and tried to tell eachother's fortunes. It was actually named after a haunting: All Hallow's Eve.

Now, how this got turned into little kids running around dressed as faeries and ficitious characters, getting candy from a bunch of strangers and going home to gourge themselves on it...I haven't the slightest clue. But putting an age restriction on one of the oldest traditions in history is incredibly riddiculous.

There's a lot worse things we could be doing than trick or treating. We could be out driving drunk running over your small children dressed in costumes that maybe we find offensive, because they aren't scary and they defile the very idea of Halloween. We could be TPing or Egging someone's house, or vandalizing people's decorations, but no, what're we doing? Dressing up to get some free candy. Problem? I think not.

The problem, the reason your precious kiddies aren't getting enough candy, is OVERPOPULATION.

It has nothing to do with the very limited amount of teenagers who actually GO trick or treating. If anything at all, you should be ENCOURAGING teenagers to go trick or treating!
