Hosting Guidelines

These guidelines have been approved by management. They are in an effort to structure the current ways contests are hosted and held from Winklings. Please read over them and be aware of them.

HOST GUIDE LIST

1. Hosts of contests must apply per IM to “Winklings” with a proposal for a theme including the specifications and rules of the contest. If there is a graphic, the link should also be indicated.

2. Hosts may judge a contest alone or with another judge. All judges must be listed on the contest to ensure that contests are judged as anonymously as possible. Final placement of winners is at the sole discretion of the host(s).

3. Hosts may enlist the assistance of a judge from the Winkling Judges Panel. Ideally this request should be made at the beginning of the contest to insure fairness to all participants. If, for whatever reason, an additional judge must be chosen after the contest has begun, all entrants must be informed of this fact.

4. Hosts must ensure that contest criteria and rules are clearly posted to each contest.

5. Hosts should comment on each entry, and are encouraged to be honest, sensitive and constructive in their comments and critiques. They should encourage editing and improvement until the contest closes, and should not select preliminary finalists until that time.

6. Hosts should judge the contest within one week of the closing date, and the final placement of winners is at the sole discretion of the host(s). Thereafter the host must send an IM to "Winklings" with the outcome of the contest and any final comments so that the contest may be officially closed
