Yes, I did. I'm thinking about it before I post a comment there; it has a lot of metaphors, imagery, symbols--ones that are pretty much "common coin"--definitely not "too abstract." Crion thought the lion reminded him somewhat of Aslan. I don't use rhymes very often because they usually keep me from using the words I really want. The last rhyming poem I wrote turned out pretty silly, which was O.K.; OTOH I think it kept me from winning anything in the contest, but rhyming was in the rules.

Well...I personally think that poetry is a form of expressing yourself in a flowery way......and usually, nobody understands my poems anyway, so I really don't care.

well, actually, the only way i can write poetry is without rhymes, very abstract. did you like my last one?

I hate writing poems that are hopeless, because it's so depressing--there's already too much of that out there. "Dum spiro spero" (While I breathe, I hope), which is the motto of the state of South Carolina. I also hate writing poems that are so abstract that nobody can understand them, because I think poetry is a form of communication.
