you know when your man is deployed when...

1. You wear his old clothes to bed because they smell like him.

2. You can watch whatever you want on TV without arguing with him first.

3. You get up in the middle of the night just to check your e-mail.

4. You sleep with your cell phone and house phone just incase he calls in the middle of the night.

5. You love watching cute love movies because it reminds you of all the cute things he did when he was home.

6. You haven't shaved in weeks maybe months because there is no one worth impressing since he has been gone.

7. The postman knows you because you are always out waiting for him to come and the maillady at the post office knows you by name because you go in every friday with a package.

8. You start paying close attention in class when the words "Military" or "Iraq" or "Afganistan" or "War" are mentioned.

9. You own at least one article of clothing that says your man's Military Branch on it and wear it at least once a week.

10. You own at least one article of clothing that says something about the MIA and KIA who have been in IRAQ or AFGANISTAN and wear it once a week.

11. You see someone wearing an Army, Navy, or USMC shirt and you get this overwhelming urge to talk to them.

12. You make friends with strangers online just because they are in the same situation as you and are the only ones that can truely understand what you are going through because they feel that way too.

13. You can't decide what to wear when you meet him at the airport because his flight comes in at a rediculous hour in the morning and you want to look cute, but not too cute, because your cutest outfit you want to save for your first full day together.

14. Your first Aniversary together is.... apart.

15. You find yourself checking your e-mail every fifteen minutes. (Who am I kidding...every 5 minutes!)

16. You know all the time differences between where you are and every where in the world.

17. The highlight of your day is getting a letter that was mailed a month or two ago.

18. And if you don't get a letter, the highlight of your day is writing him a letter that you know he will be able to read in a month or two.

19. You realize that HOMECOMING is so much more than a football, baseball, or basketball game.

20. You want to hit any and every happy couple you see together. Yes even your own friends.

21. You get excited about "unknown" phone numbers calling you at weird hours of the day.

22. You've exhausted every idea a brain could have of what to put in a box and asked others what ideas they have about what you can put into a box.

23. You see a "support our troops" sticker on a car when you are stuck in traffic and you find yourself guessing about who they know that is deployed and thinking about their entire life story.

24. When the clock says 11:11, you find yourself wishing for the same thing everytime: a call, a letter, and your loved one home.

25. You get excited when its only 5 months until you see your loved one instead of 7!

26. You can't stand girls that talk about missing their boyfriends who live a few hours away. You just want to yell "drive and go see them then" because if you had the chance, you would jump on the first plane to go see your loved one no matter how far it is.

27. You don't know what teams are on top for football, basketball, etc since hes not home.

28. You wouldn't dream of walking out of the house without the cell phone and every number you have is forwarded to that cell.

29. You find yourself randomly crying from just looking at a picture of the two of you together and you have pictures of the both of you everywhere.

30. You find yourself randomly crying and you sometimes have no idea why.

31. You stay on the internet for hours searching for anything and everything about the military.

32. You talk to your friends about him so much that they know his full name, birthday and even his favorite color.

33. You suddenly have an obsession with anything Military related.

34. Our AOL/ Yahoo/Myspace/Xanga ect. Profiles have something to do with military or have song lyrics in them.

35. You know what the terms Head, Rack, Field Day and PT mean and have no trouble using them on a daily basis.

36. You know the difference between a Recruit, Enlisted, and an Officer, and know the rank structure like the back of our hand.

37. You feel every note of the songs "I'm Already There", "When I'm Gone", "Here Without You", "Proud to be an American" and "The National Anthem" ect.

38. You watch the news and cry hysterically for fallen Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors and no one seems to understand why.

39. You just cry.... and cry.... and cry... and cry for no reason at all and you are fine with that!!

40. You have at least one (but probably more) family member or friend that doesn't approve or understand your long distance relationship and you also have at least one family member or friend that either has done it in the past or is doing it right alongside you.

41. At the ages of 17, 18, 19, 20, 21; you have no problem saying YES to a marriage proposal or that you will be faithful until they return home to you.

42. Every time there's a bulletin on Myspace having to do with military you forward it on.

43. You smile when you see a soldier in public dressed in his uniform because it reminds you that yours will be home soon.

44. You get a little teary eyed when the Star Spangled Banner is sung at sporting events and watching the flag blow in the wind

and the 45th way to identify a US Military girlfriend, fiancé or wife....

They will all post this on their Profiles for everyone to see!
14 months until my baby comes home...keep one foot in front of the other baby..keep your head low and your spirits high..and before you even know it..you will be in my arms once more...

I'm not good at being a military fiance. Not good at it at all.
