We are often asked how to become a greeter, what it takes, or how old you have to be.

What is the Greeter Team?

The Greeter Team welcomes AllPoetry’s new members by reading and commenting on their work. This is a very important function, because it helps to promote a continued support and involvement in the site from the new member.
Each Greeter Team Member has a set number of required reads / comments per daily login which needs to be adhered to, to accomplish their duties as a greeter.
We are the AllPoetry Help Desk to assist members with any questions they may have about the site. So, an excellent knowledge of the site’s functionality is definitely a plus. However it is not required, as we are currently in the process of training all greeters to be able to respond to queries from members on our helpdesk.

What is required of YOU to become a Greeter?

Our goal here is to make each and every member’s stay a little more enjoyable. So a pleasant attitude is a standard that the Greeter Team tries to maintain at all times. We are often the first contact for new members, and first impressions mean a lot to us. We continually hope that when a new member joins, they WANT to keep coming back because of the positive experience they have had with the site due to us doing our job.
It is recommended to have been on the site for a minimum of 6 months before you attempt to apply for a greeters position.
This gives applicants the opportunity to become accustomed to how the site works as well as commenting on other’s work.
Also, it is required that applicants be at least 17 years of age.
This is because each Greeter is to read and comment on new member's posts and some poems are classified in the Adult, Erotica, and Abuse categories, which are not viewable to anyone younger then 15. If you were underage and unable to view the poems of a member, then they could miss out on being welcomed to the site.
You cannot have been in an altercation with a member of this site. You have to remember that as a Greeter, you serve ALL members, including those that you may not get along with. For the sake of your duties these differences have to be kept aside so that each and every person receives the help that they require.
You cannot have been banned from the site at all, as it shows that you have not followed the rules that we are here to supervise and assist with. Not only that, but NO staff member is above the rules and we have to comply with them at all times.
The Bottom Line is:

We enjoy what we do. We are a cohesive, friendly Team of people of all ages, from different countries, backgrounds and religious beliefs. We represent some of the best of what this site has to offer and we are willing to serve.
Our job is to assist you, the members of allpoetry.
The New Members, as much as or if not more as the old members who require our assistance in all facets of this site.
We are the first stop before the moderators, and will help you contact them if needed, or necessary.

Please keep in mind that applying does not mean acceptance.
There is a waiting queue for the Greeter Team and only when a spot becomes available are applications considered.
They are kept on file, however, until such time arises.
