Free verse poetry

Free form poetry is very fun and anyone can do it. You have no rules as long as you can place your own style on paper.
For someone starting off on poetry free from poetry will get you off and going and away from writers block.
Free form poetry is just what that means, free form. You can add or change things to the way you want it. A great free form poem is one that draws the reader in.
New styles of poetry can be formed by doing free verse. You can a lot of experimenting with verses. I done a lot of wild things with free verse.
Someone who is starting off as a new poet should try free verse first. It is a lot of fun. Form poetry can be frustrating and may turn off some poets.
Some need a great challenge but I find free verse challenging enough to keep me coming back for more. A great poet is rare. The mark of a great poet is one that is open to new forms of poetry. You may not write very much in one form or another but you can always learn about it.
Do research, take your time. A great poet is always learning and willing to take responsible action to keep up on poetry.
College is a great learning ground for poets. I choose the web to learn because college can stifle free expression of poetic gifts.
I may not be the most talented poet on Earth but I enjoy being able to write about any given topic and be able to play with my verses tinkering it just right to see how people respond to it.
We may be able to write about any topic but a great poet will be able to paint a picture in the readers mind.
I do believe we must read constantly. We must keep our minds working at all times in order to bring awareness to poetry. Poetry is a living art, not just a moldy stale book that gets dust on it in some book shelf.
We must be aware of why we write and what our style is. We must know ourselves first and grow by studying other poets. Our style will change, vocabulary will grow and our minds will expand with wisdom.
If you fail, try, try again. Never give up no matter how hard it gets. We all fall off the horse many times.  If we never become famous so be it at least we write great poetry and enjoy it.
I fail about 80 percent of the time in contest poems, but a few great hits make it worth it. Contest poetry is subjective and it really is up to the tastes of the judge so do not feel shy about jumping in. You may learn a lot from the feedback you get when you join a contest.
We are able to decide what is best for us. Choose what is best for you and learn what you can. Free verse allows me to choose what I want to do and where I want to go with my poetry.
