Make two seperate blgrds that look good together,
the edge one, make either 1350 pixels wide or larger/
or make it tile (seamlessly).
Make the other one (the main bkgrd) 860 pixels wide, any length will do.
When you up load to the site, chose ZERO margin width for the main bkgrd, that way you will get the option to add a border color or custom bkgrd...
Choose the main bkgrd in step 1 - choose the edge bkgrd in step 2.
If you want just a darker transparent color to overlay on the edge bkgrd...
then create a new bkgrd in psp (transparent) 860 pixels wide...
floodfill it with black, or any other color that matches well
with the edged bkgrd.
fade it to 42 or lower in the layers property box, it is the one that says "opacity"... then SAVE AS PNG...
when uploading to the site, choose ZERO for the margin
and NO COLOR in the match color slider.
Then it will be semi transparent over your pretty edged bkgrd.
