Almost Wonderful


Dawn’s breaking.
I’m dizzy, I’m drunk, and I can’t see clearly.
Road’s moving as I sit there staring at the sky, it looks wonderful; shades of blue flirting with the yellows of the sun.
A cold breeze… well, no not cold… a gentle breeze finds her way into my window barely open, caresses my skin, plays with my hair, sneaks into my clothes.
Goosebumps… now I feel cold.

I’m dizzy and the road’s still moving.
I’m not home yet and I’m worried about mother waking up and finding out that I’m 2 hours late from my usual curfew.
It’s 5h AM and I wish time would just stop there. I wish the sky is always this pure…
Nothing else is… nothing.

I think of her, heh, now I’m even dizzier… a bit warmer though.
She scares me, yeah that’s a good thing. And I can’t seem to trust her when it comes to… almost everything.
It bugs her but somehow I enjoy it, because this way, she always ends up surprising me… well, most of the time.
She looked really good tonight. Almost wonderful.

We take a right turn, then another, then another, and then the road stops moving.
Buildings block my view, but if I look up I’d see it… the sky.
I’m too dizzy though.
I’m home and from the window facing my bed, I watch the mating blues and yellows, and the whites.
What a scene.
I can smell the morning and I can still taste her.

And now, I dream.
Goodnight.

    Why is it ALMOST wonderful? for me it's just... wonderful. I had the same goosebumps as you did but I didn't feel cold. Thank you for the ride, I'm glad you fixed your car after the bridge accident

      i wasnt in my car tho called a cab that night hehe.. we dt want that bridge accident to happen again

    what a scene...what a trip...it's almost as if i actually lived it...experienced it through ur eyes...had goose bumps through ur skin...smelled the morning through ur nose...

    how amazing this is...how amazing u r...how brilliantly u're able to capture every single sensation,every single image...
    u'll never cease to amaze me rana...i adore the beauty that emenates from ur words...from the simple fact that u exist...
