Tutorial: Practice Drop Shadow in PSP

OPEN PAINT SHOP PRO any version

 

1. Click FILE - NEW

 

fill in the info as below:

 

 


2. Click on the picture TUBE tool/ at the right of the screen

    choose a tube by clicking on it -

 

 

     

 

Click on the new transparent edit window to place it

 


3. Click on EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - DROP SHADOW

 

 

Click OK

 


ADD IT TO ANYTHING YOU WANT

 

4. Clcik FILE - OPEN

    find anything that you want to place this tube on and open it

 


5. Click on the transparent window at the top to highlight it (select it)

    Click EDIT - COPY

    Click on the new graphic you just opened at the top to select it

    Click EDIT - PASTE - PASTE AS NEW SELECTION

    Move the tube into place and click CTRL D on your keyboard to de-select

 

 


Don't be afraid to experiment - always work with a copy (save the original)

 

And have fun...

 

If you run into this in the 3D EFFECTS menu

 

 

DO THIS:

 

In the layers palet

Double click on BACKGROUND

 

 

you will see this: Click OK

 

 

Then you will see this: Click OK

 

 

Now you will have access to the 3D EFFECTS area


OR FOR SOME OF THE STUBBORN ONES

 

Click EDIT - COPY 

And then tick the UNDO tab until the tube is gone

 

Then Click EDIT - PASTE - PASTE AS NEW SELECTION

 

While it is still selected (the little ants marching around it)

 

Click EFFECTS - 3D EFFECTS - DROP SHADOW

 

and you will have accesss to that menu

There are shorter ways of doing this but I wanted to go the long way to give you a better understanding
