Tutorial; Designer Border
This tutorial is done in PSP9 but can be altered to work with most paint programs that support PNG images.
OPEN A NEW IMAGE;
Click FILE - NEW
Fill in as seen below;
You now have this;
Click on the PAINTBRUSH
SIZE 160 & fill in as below;
Choose a color, I chose pale yellow
PAINT the LEFT side of the new window all the way down (see below)
Click on the WARP BRUSH
FILL IN as below;
Warp the right edge until you see a design you like, being careful not to disturb the top and bottom {unless you have the plugin “top bottom wrap}
Now open the AIRBRUSH
Choose a complimenting color to go with the main color you’ve chosen
AIRBRUSH settings below…
Airbrush the border in any way you like, be creative…
Click on EFFECTS – 3D EFFECTS - CHISEL
SETTINGS BELOW
Now you’ll have something like this (use the paint brush to paint any area that was missed)
Now click on EFFECTS – ARTISTIC EFFECTS – COLORED FOIL
FILL IN setting as below;
Now you’ll have something like this below
Use your BACKGROUND ERASER or WARP BRUSH to clean up
Now it is time to make it SEAMLESS
Click on EFFECTS - IMAGE EFFECTS - OFFSET

FILL IN as below;
You’ll now have this;
Use the CLONE BRUSH or WARP BRUSH to disguise the seam;
Now it is SEAMLESS
You can add a shadow if you wish at this point…
SAVE AS “PNG” to use later on a bkgrd that is the same pixel length
Here it is after using the standard INNER BEVEL and adding a few TUBE graphics, shadow and text…
The techniques in this tutorial can be altered a thousand + ways to create unique original borders. Step out of the box and experiment – create, design and most of all have fun painting the web one page at a time…
