TUTORIAL - - CLONING & WARPING Paint Shop Pro 9

TUTORIAL - - CLONING & WARPING

.

For this tutorial we will be utilizing the

WARP BRUSH, CLONE TOOL,

  & PLUG-IN FILTER - TOP BOTTOM WRAP

.

FIRST:

.

If you do not have the plug-in “Top bottom wrap”

Go here to download then install into your “filter/plug-in folder”

http://www.btinternet.com/~cateran/simple/

Directions are on that link page

Scroll down to the middle of the page where you read

“DOWN LOADS and BONUS PACK” in the second line you will see

“A FEW EXTRA” Click on that link because that is the filter you need.

.

You may even want to get all of them while you are at it:)

Right click on image to save to your picture file

Open the image in Paint Shop Pro

Click EDIT – COPY

Open a NEW IMAGE 1280 x 425 as TRANSPARENT

.

Click EDIT – PASTE AS NEW SELECTION

.

Position it to the far left as shown below

.

REPEATING the PASTE AS NEW SELECTION across the entire body as shown below

.

. (image at 40% to show in this tutorial)

DE-SELECT using CTRL & D on your keyboard

Click on the WARP BRUSH

In the toolbar at the top of the screen fill in these settings:

.

  NOW WE CAN BEGIN

.

The cloning and warping

Hold the WARP BRUSH over the graphic

LEFT CLICK + HOLD and DRAG to the right/left/up/down/all over

with artistic movement until the entire body is filled with color.

[No two will ever look the same]

.

Now click on EFFECTS – PLUGINS – SIMPLE – TOP BOTTOM WRAP

See the seam line? ( I highlighted mine in white for this tutorial)

.

Take the WARP BRUSH and BLEND it in being careful not to move the paint at the top and bottom of the body. Then REPEAT the steps above, top bottom wrap, again to see if it needs any additional blending.

.

Now your bkgrd should be seamless...

.

Remember the original graphic we opened?

Click on it, its time to ERASE a part of it.

.

Click on ERASER – BACKGROUND ERASER

And start erasing the left part as shown below

.

.

.

REMEMBER you do have an UNDO button

But “if” you just can’t get it right, use this one.

Right click and save to your picture files and then open it.

.

Now click on EDIT – COPY

Then click on the BKGRD to highlight it and click

EDIT – PASTE – PASTE AS NEW SELECTION

Position it on the border side far left-center & de-select

.

You can add extra HAIR by clicking on the CLONE TOOL

(Adjust the size between: 30 to 50 as desired)

.

.

RIGHT click while over part of the hair to copy it

Then LEFT click to put it where you need it

.

Ready your WARP BRUSH again

.

But this time making the brush SIZE SMALLER to begin with

.

Mine is set at “20” to "70" to "250"

.

Start BLENDING in the graphic making slow careful movements    through the hair

.

REMEMBER you have an UNDO button:) you will use this a lot*grin*

.

Keep doing this until you get the look you want switching back and fourth

between the clone and warp tools as different sizes.

.

Use the Clone tool or Paint brush to put a "line" on the forehead

.

Remember to TOP BOTTOM WRAP often

It helps to make the bkgrd larger with the zoom tool also

SAVE YOUR WORK as JEPG or PNG

You can apply this technique to ANYTHING the sky is the limit.

That’s all folks... Here is mine finished…

.

.

GO FOURTH AND PAINT THE WORLD…
