What is wrong with the world? I mean seriously come on. What ever happened to patience? You have to have it now, and it has to be perfect. There is no room for everyone else to make a mistake but you can make as many as you want? Oh! And what’s with this superiority complex people have about fast food employees???
I understand perfectly that there are very rude people who work at some fast food restaurants. There are so many reasons for that. Number one the employee could just be a real jerk.
But please. The customer is NOT always right. I’ve been working in fast food for about a year an’ half now. I’m moving up into management. With my time here I definitely have found just what ass’s people are.
Okay number one. One of the most ridiculous complaints I have ever had was about a cheeseburger. When you come up an order a cheeseburger plain . . . don’t you dare come back and start screaming at an employee because it has CHEESE on it! If you wanted a hamburger then get the sludge out of your brain and don’t order a cheeseburger. The NAME of the sandwich says it all.
And hello anyone in there? *taps computer screen* Not ALL employees have experience. There are these people that you’ll come across that are nervous and not know what they’re doing. They are called NEW people. Don’t dare complain they should know everything. The only way you actually know what you’re doing is to get EXPERIENCE doing it. Which means at first the person is going to make some dumb mistakes and be a little slow. Your being a jackass screaming at them is not going to help.
What’s with you people who order your food and want it so fresh that it’s not even a minute old then you throw a fit because you have to wait five minutes for it. Literally only five minutes. Let’s see you go into your kitchen and whip up french fries, a grilled chicken sandwich and a drink in at most seven minutes and have it taste GOOD.
But what I have to say takes the cake . . . is when people get violent over their food. We had a costumer come in and get all upset over ketchup on their burger. We have stainless steel right? Well this person was screaming at the managers then took their food and threw it at them. It hit the steel. I’m telling you right now that stain took two hours to get out. How dare you ever get violent over a piece of meat. That is never called for.
Now I’m not saying that fast food employees are always completely blameless. I’ve gone to plenty of places as a customer and had some of the worst service, food blah, blah, blah. But I also know that throwing a fit about it is not how to handle a situation. Usually it’s the stupid teens who only stick around for a month then quit that cause our bad reputations. Here’s the thing though, there are so many good people who do a lot of hard honest work. These places require a lot of physical labor. A lot of times the good employees end up having 12 hour and longer days on their feet because the little teens who don’t want to do any work but get paid don’t show up. It’s hard on the good employees. You people who have never worked in a fast food place don’t give enough credit to what you are provided with from these people.
And for those of you idiots who think that fast food is not a good place to work who wouldn’t demean yourselves to work at a fast food restaurant you sure spend enough time STUFFING your faces with our food. So you’re to good to work there but you still eat the food?
It isn’t only fast food either it’s all the physically tasking places. All blue collar workers that get a load of crap from people who think they’re better. What it really comes down to though is people get so caught up in their own little worlds they completely forget what’s really important. Seriously, cursing someone out because you’re food may be wrong? Come on, it’s a sandwich, that is NOT something to get pissed about. If you do then you’re an idiot.
