Hold your hands together in prayer fashion and say: “Namaste”, (The Divinity within me perceives and adores the Divinity within you). 1
This simple gesture of greeting, which is commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists, exemplifies the respectful attitude with which we can view others. The simple thought of interconnection, honor, and mutual respect will immediately pull your perspective into the Now. There will be no thoughts of the past, what this person has done or said, only timeless communion between souls. When we take a moment to realize that we are all viewing pieces of divinity, we are reminded of the perfection of each individual’s spirit. Their physical expression of life may or may not be what you would express, but underneath the grand play of life, we are all One. This awareness of unity allows one to see past the illusion of separaton, and to rejoice at the recognition of self. The omnipresent spark of life can be recognized in every piece and particle in this physical plane of reality. You will find it in animals, in the trees, in water, in the wind, and in Mother Earth herself.
So the next time you greet someone, or wish to connect with your pet, or even commune with nature, take the time to pause for a moment. Reflect upon Namaste. Feel the connection. See the perfection. Enjoy the peace and love in your heart as you reconnect with divinity.
