Please don't complain unless you take the time to read the books

Don't rely on the critics rewies of the movie "The Golden Compass" Read all three of the books before you condemn the movie yourself.

These people only complain when they make a movie out of it.These books have been out for a long time in alot of school libraries.But parents are only concerned about the things kids see and not read,as if our imaginations aren't taken further by books who give us time and reason to think,but by movies where there is no explanation about the story line and what you see is what you get.I reccomend any parents who are skeptical about letting their child see the movie to read the books themselves and allow the children to read them.There is no reference to "God" is not the way,it merely is taking religion in fantasy form and basically explaining the whole original sin thing and how there is good and evil,but free will is always there and only they can choose the path of goodness or evil.Only hipocrits and biggots could ever read the books and think they are evil.And children don't really take notice to hidden meanings,they only connect with the heroine of the story and in these books it's a young girl that is destined to save the world who has free will and is choosing goodness and escaping the evil "adults" who wish to exploit and harm the universe with the magical objects she is given on her journey.
Children only see a child overcoming life's obstacles and being a hero in saving the universe.And of course it's fun to see talking animals and having the thought that they could have their own daemon that takes on animal form,while they are immersed in the fictional world of Philip Pullman's books.
Don't damn the movie just because close minded biggots tell you it's evil,read the books and get your children involved too.When you keep them away from books such as these that promote insight,interpretation,and thinking then you are only damming them to a future life of biggotry,lack of reasoning,and a follow the leader sort of life.You can't expect them to be free thinkers when you don't allow them to read or watch and encourage discussions on what they take of the meaning of such things.After all,the Bible is full of hidden meanings,and symbolism.The author of these books just takes on a different approach to telling the battle between good and evil.
