Can Love be Blind?

Another college essay... i know this isn't where I'm suppose to post them, but i need to put them somewhere... please critque them I'd appreacate it!!
Is it possible to love without seeing a person? Without looking at their face, appearance, or eyes? In a world that bases opinions on the clothing you wear and the size of your jeans, how is it possible to think you love a person without seeing them?
Tacey Raye looked at me, and smiled the truest smile I’d ever seen.. She reached blindly for my face, feeling each detail, each imperfection. She seemed to be trying to read it, as if it told some interesting story. Her hand made her way down to my own. I felt her faith and love in the way she held tightly to my hand, even though she met me hardly 24 hours before. This girl made me feel so warm, even though the pool water that surrounded us was very chilly. She kicked her legs carelessly, but kept her hands in mine.
As our pool time ended, we headed towards arts and crafts. I gripped another child's hand, but my mind was on Tacey. How could she be so sure of herself, so sure of the love she felt in her heart? She had met the whole group of new people and stole the heart of most of them with her carefree loving attitude. I envied this outlook on love, and decided from that moment on, I would try and love as unconditionally as Tacey did.
As I began to hand out markers for a project, I came to Tacey. “What color marker would you like?” I asked and held out my box full of color. Tacey reached into the box. “What color is this one?” she asked, holding the marker in front of her face. I blinked and answered red. She proceeded to color with it. I’d forgotten, yet again, the reason for Tacey being at this camp. She was completely blind from a cancer called Retinoblastoma. It seemed odd to me that a girl so capable was blind. She got through life so much better then me, learning life’s lessons quickly.
Whether she knew it or not, Tacey taught me those life’s lessons. On one night, she got on stage, and sang like her idol Hannah Montana. She seemed to embody her own words. “Who said I can't be superman I say, I say that I know I can”. She taught me this lesson, to try and try with all my heart, because you can do anything.
Another lesson Tacey taught me came throughout the whole camp week. Everyone always spoke of how all humans are terrible. Here was a little girl who loved everyone and thing with all her heart even though she had a lot of reason to hate. I had to become like Tacey and love no matter what.
Love is the purest feeling in the world, but is it possible to have it, when you can’t see this person you love? Yes, it’s possible, and it happens. I have found living proof to that saying that “Love is blind” because truly Tacey Raye, the retinoblastoma patient, is love.
