Something I have never understood, is how we could possibly honor single people for the efforts at ground zero after September 11th, 2001. I saw something recently, on TV, about a firefighter being recognized for his efforts. And I understand that it takes a lot of guts, I am not saying that he doesn't deserve to be recognized. What I am saying is that it is purely impossible, and unfair, to recognize only ONE person.
It wasn't just ONE person who saved lives at ground zero. It was a group effort. A group effort that was incredible, and deserves to be recognized as a whole. There are so many brave souls that were a part of this, that is impossible to individually recognize each and every one.
**Please feel free to contradict my opinion. Just don't be mistaken in thinking that I don't respect the firefighters that took part in the efforts at ground zero. Trust me, I appreciate and admire all they have done as much as the next person.
This is something about 9/11 I have yet to understand.
