zombie bored treatment

characters:

brian
myself (celebate)
girl character (based on idea of leighann and what happened there between all three of us, physique of Rose)

plot outline:

starts out at brian's house (possible date: sept. 7th, 2007?---remember the weather on this date---and the sounds: cicadas, opening song: "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, lost radio signal perhaps, possibly repeated over and over and over, perhaps fallout style shit) brian is raking the yard (metal rakes, possibly me with him) and we start up conversation about how we are the last people on earth due to zombie infestation, although there doesnt seem to be many around here (information we already KNOW to be true--- or at least that is the appearant premise). we are bored. we decide to go to hawaii, after much consideration and concentration and conversation etc. we talk about arming ourselves (rakes) and going to a hardware store for guns (real place, possibly Audet's in Monmouth). *use local areas that we know about for reference* we get guns, after much debate (refer to our real-life debate) on which ones we should unanimously choose, and eventually brian gets pistols, i get shotgun. (turns out that shotugns are more useful at first, i rub it in brians face, and later pistols become infinitely more useful.) we use google earth (the internet could never get destroyed) and decide that nelson's beach in maui looks really nice. we decide to go there, and obviously have to get there by boat, which would be really fucking hard to do. we will, though. we go to california (road trip) to a boat yard or something (possibly where we meet the girl? the gold rush state, land of dreams?) and brian figures out how to driv the boat, because after all, he's had SOME experience here on the lake (Cobbossee). yatta yatta, he figures things out (we might need to research this).

++ in REAL life, since we are tentatively planning on making this pilgrimage, we would use a plane to get to hawaii ++

possibilities for girl theme (we could really fuck with this) are: girl falls in love with me, the christian (not brian, who is an agnostic---conversational possibilities perhaps included (i.e.: brian asking if this is another noah's ark thing and what my explanation is for God's reasons for creating this carnage)). girl gets in conflict with me and falls for brian, but by the end of the book, and this is (probably) a definite, brian is dead, presumably by zombie ways. or i have to kill him because hes become a zombie, or will turn into one, like that touching mall scene in dawn of the dead (romero's version). then me and girl realize that we have to procreate, and so i break my vows of celebacy and have sex with her, perhaps reluctantly (do i fall in love with her? did brian? did she to brian? did she ACTUALLY fall in love with me?) she is blonde. 9 months later, she gives birth to a child, and it has brians features. this, obviously, sucks to be me. end of story, possibility based for "sequel" (depending on how dedicated we are to this and if we even finish and if so how long THAT takes) based on the premise of sons from this girl, if that is, in fact, the gender of the child or twins or whatever. you, however you are, know what i mean. 'nother character based on brian is the basic idea (we have to reincarnate him).

questions:

why are we raking the lawn to begin with?

what is the cause of the zombie infestation? (might not explain this, leaving it up to the reader)

things to remember: we are the deus ex mahcinas here, we can do what we damn well please (but we should probably artistically form this around an awesome story).

great brainstorming, I should do this. I'm so suffering from writer's block right now. Sounds like it would be a funny story!
